Father's Day

Father's Day

My EDD is June 15th, which lands on Father's Day. So, I guess baby will come earlier or later, but I'd still like to get something for Peter. Any ideas for a 1st father's day gift?

I'm thinking the same thing...even though my Peanut definitely won't be here for Father's Day.

Steve and I have a wedding the 14th at the Waldorf so we're getting a room and then on Sunday (Father's Day), I'm taking him to lunch and a show of his choice. I *really* wanted to take him to the Yankee game at 1:00, but I'm soooo afraid I'll be miserable if it's HOT!!!

It's about me, ya know!

I'll try to think of something!!

Kathi, that's so nice! You're right you might be hot out there.

Our 1 year anniversary is the Sunday after, so it would be nice if we can do something really special.

I plan on getting Scott a Father's Day gift this year since he is the father of our little blur
I think a nice photo frame for his desk is a good idea or a nice book about fatherhood. Also, for Easter I got Scott a baby book about baseball so he can read to the baby about his favorite subject.

Michele, what is the name of that book? I will check it out.

Re: Father's Day

For Jeff's first Father's Day, I got him a special card from Paul (he was one month old), and a ballcap that says 'World's Greatest Dad.' I also got him some new clothes.

But, my favorite gift is the one that will continue to grow more precious every year - no, not Paul - although, that fits!

I made Jeff a Father's Day memory book. I started the first page with a folk song that Jeff's Dad wrote for him 32 years ago when he was born. The second page, I placed two photos of Jeff w/Paul and wrote some things about Paul coming into our lives and just expanding the love that we share for each other and creating this whole new type of love for him
Every year for Father's Day, I will update the book with new pictures of things that they did together that past year. I love that Jeff will always have this book to look back on how far we've come as a family, and watch his children grow from year to year. When Paul is old enough, I will have him help me choose the photos and make the new pages.

Claud's book is beautiful. And the folk song is truly a gift from a father to his son forever!

The book I got Scott is one of those first reader type books Niha 'We Love Baseball' I found it at the Penn Station Book Store. It basically tells a child how to play the game and who is who such as 'Mr. Jones is our coach. He helps us learn to play baseball every week'

The baby isn't due until July, can we still celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day??
