To be honest, I'm not into wedding favors too much. I sometimes use ones I get and I don't LOVE any that I've seen for me to give. So.....I think a donation would be more beneficial, and then I'll just give something like chocolate with an 'in lieu of favor' statement
what do you think?
Thanks!

Re: Favor Dilema
thats exactly what we did- we ordered chocolates from truffle trolley- they were delish and very inexpensive and the rest of what we had budgeted for favors, we donated. The chocolates had a small card that said a donation was made to the MS Society

yeah but your idea is soo cute b/c of the october/fall season..nothing jumps at me for June lol
I think a donation is a great idea. I was thinking of doing something like that as well but I'm thinking now that I may donate the money to a local shelter or soup kitchen.
I think cancer research is important but I feel like a donation to a shelter or soup kitchen helps people with a more immediate need. And especially with it being so cold out lately, it really makes me feel for people who have no home.

FH and I are giving to NSASA-- Nassau Suffolk Autism Society. I think it is so much better than giving a candle that someone will get rid of or leave on the table.

Re: Favor Dilema
I really want to do something for charity...FH wants to do traditional favors. I don't think I have ever used anything I've gotten as a wedding favor and honestly, I think a charitable donation is a nice way to 'give back.'

And yes the donation sounds like a sweet idea, especially if you are not really into the whole favor thing.

Re: Favor Dilema
i myself have been tossing around the idea of doing a donation. i do love that its more effective to give a donation as oppose to a favor but then sometimes i feel like guests expect a favor to take home.
i havent found much that i liked because i feel its all a waste unless its edible. if i dont do a donation i am leaning towards edible favors

Re: Favor Dilema
I totally agree with you..Im not into favors myself so we dontated money to St. Jude's (they provided book marks with our name and date for each place setting explaining that we donated )then we gave each guest a mini cheesecake it was cute.HTH

Re: Favor Dilema
I think you could go either way, but if you do end up going for favors there are lots of more practical ones now that you could get. Bottle stoppers, measuring spoons, etc. that's not just the usual soap or m&m's or whatever.
