Hey girls, I am just wondering how you determine how many favors to order if you are ordering favors before you get a head count? Do you just order the number you have invited? But then won't you have a lot of extras and spend more $$ than necessary? We are going the end of this month to order invites and favors and I am just wondering how I know how many to order. Please let me know! Thanks!!

Re: Favor Question
we are doing one per couple because its a box filled with items.... like sugar cubes, tea bags, etc. It all depends on what you want..one per guest or one per family/couple :)

Re: Favor Question
For my E Party, I invited 94 people and divided the amount in half. So I ordered 50. I know it will be more than enough but I wanted to be sure.

Re: Favor Question
I think it depends if you are doing one per couple or one to each guest. Did you decide on that yet?

Re: Favor Question
i would do a % less than your guest list total.....like 15% less. they say that about 20%- 25% of guests reply 'no'. just to be safe count on about 10-15% replying 'no'. hth.

Re: Favor Question
Our wedding favors are one per couple. The first thing we did was count up the max number we would need if EVERYONE came (taking into account couples, singles, kids, etc), even though we knew that would not happen. That gave us 202. We ordered boxes in batches of 100 (i think) so we ordered 200. I think we have enough wrapping paper for 200 too (?) but again, we ordered a 100' roll and couldn't really order any less than that. We prepared 170 which should still be too many, but it's nice to know that we do have a buffer zone 'just in case.' We'll make more later if we need more. Again, we can do this because we are DIYing our favors, but we still needed to order supplies.
Depending on how far in advance you need to order your favors, I guess you need to estimate on the higher side. It's hard, but better to have too many than not enough. You can always try to sell the extras or keep them for yourselves. (Or, if you run short you can always look for extras on here or ebay)

Re: Favor Question
I am no where near ordering mine but I think 1 per copule is the smartest and cheapest way. Not everyone tends to take their favors anyway.

Re: Favor Question
I am doing one per couple as well because mine is going to be a home made bottle of wine. Are you able to wait a little long so you have an idea of your final count??

Re: Favor Question
Most of the sites I've looked at for favors, they don't take more than a week or so to come in. I'm not ordering ANY until I have my final head count 6 weeks out from the wedding, and then I will only round up when I order. Especially if they're already in boxes and tagged, you don't need to have them more than a week in advance (when your RH wants them delivered).
