Favor question.. how many?

I keep hearing ladies say one per person or per couple. I was thinking one per setting..

Any reason why I shouldn't that maybe I don't know about?

I suppose it depends upon what your favors are, but I would imagine that the reason for limiting it to one per couple would be the cost. What are you thinking of for favors?

ETA: what's the difference between one per person and one per setting?

Re: Favor question.. how many?

my favors are definately a work in progress..

I really want little steamers (like you see in chinese resturants) with a red envelope inside with a lucky golden coin.

What may happen is asian hexagon favor boxes that are red with asian symbols of love, double happiness & marriage on it. Inside would be hershey kisses in our colors.

I get out of my budget and they'll get chopsticks with our names and date on it, held together by a ribbon and set on a maple leaf.

ideas just keep flowing...

i guess per person and setting is the same..
Im just lost on the per couple thing.

I dunno.. I've never been married before... I don't know this stuff. and weddings I've been too there's one setting per table and that's it.. you either take it home or you leave it. Never really had a favor from a wedding that wasn't two plastic cups glued together.

*shrug*

LMAO! The favors sound very cool. I think if you can swing it, budget-wise, go for one per person. I mean, how would a couple share a set of chopsticks?

it would be romantic and cute to see a couple share chopsticks.. maybe they could feed eachother. hehehehe

We are doing one bigger favor per couple and one of the almond bags per person.

One favor per person unless they are part of a couple...then one per couple. It saves money and the males, in my opinion, don't really care about the favors and probably won't even take them. You'll wind up with a lot of extras that you could've saved your money on.

soooo what do you do?
Hold the favors prisoner? Or set them out.
I figured I wouldnt really start on favors until I got a good idea of a head count.

Re: Favor question.. how many?

it depends on the favor...we gave candle holders and candles that matched the decor of our wedding...so we gave one per person...and then also truffles on the way out... the woman then had matching candle holders...and most people love chocolate...

however if you were to do regular sized bottles of wine...wine stoppers...or something like that...one per couple is fine...

edited to say that most people look at the favors on the table and realize if they are one per guest or one per couple...
