FAVOR STUFF

FAVOR STUFF

I was talking with my koumbara's mother (she's footing the bill for the wedding favors) and she knows I want to do bottles of limoncello as the favor, but then she suggested we also have bottles of wine for the people that don't drink limoncello.

Is that weird? Bottles of limoncello and (probably) a bottle of white wine like Riesling?

She also suggested attaching little boxes of mixed nuts to the bottles as like a little snacky type thing, but then my mom suggested Godiva chocolates. What do you think? I'm leaning towards the chocolate.

Edited b/c I can't spell.

I have no problem with having two diff bottles of something, but I was concerned with how it meshed together? Like, does it match? Is it weird to have liquor and wine?

Re: FAVOR STUFF

IMO limoncello is definitely an acquired taste but it's your wedding and if you want to give it as a favor I think you should... I personally don't think I would give people an option....

I would go with the chocolates and not nuts

trueeeeeeeeeeeeeee. MAYBE, if we decide we need 200 favors, we have 2/3rds wine and only a third limoncello? I know my Italians will like the limoncello, but the Greeks + others will outnumber them like crazy! LOL

Re: FAVOR STUFF

i'd just do the limoncello ... if people don't like it, they can re-gift it

i think if you do 2/3 of that and 1/3 of wine, people might get disappointed with what they receive.

oh and chocolate is def better than nuts

It would be 2/3rds wine and 1/3rd Limoncello since most people will go for the wine. I don't need disappointed guests.

Re: FAVOR STUFF

I think wine and chocolate is a really awesome pairing.

If you can find crema di limoncello, that's a tasty version because it's not as strong and it's creamy.

But I like regular limoncello however I think that pairs better with a cookie like a meringue - something light to balance the powerfulness of the liquor.

Re: FAVOR STUFF

Honestly Becca, do what YOU want. You're never going to make all of your guests happy, especially with favors. There will always be someone that doesn't like limoncello, or someone that doesn't like wine, or someone that doesn't like either. There will also be people allergic to nuts, and some allergic to chocolate. Do what YOU like best.

Besides, if you do both, how do you decide who gets what????

ITA with Laura. Maybe you do both with figs. You can't get more mediteranean than that. The Italians love em and it pairs well with both liquors. You can get 'em dried out of season. Just a thought

Re: FAVOR STUFF

I like the idea of having them both. I personally like the idea of nuts better than chocolate, since I prefer nuts to chocolate. However, I guess it depends on what you think your guests will like more.

Re: FAVOR STUFF

my sister had godiva gold truffle boxes with 4 truffles inside.......she did this in addition to the donation favor they gave.

I personally like the chocolate better. As far as the wine/limoncello, it really should be what YOU AND STEPH want (well you, but we include the FH's as if they have a say ). You are dealing with all different people; some will like one, some will like the other, some will like none and some will like both.

That's the case with any favor. If you give out a spoon rest or a vase or a jar, who is to say that all your guests will like it.

Do what makes YOU happy. And if you think you will please all your guests, including the GREEEKS, thats a no no. You are pleasing what YOU and steph want at YOUR wedding. If they don't lke it, they can give it to someone else.

I would personally do the limoncello, its something different and if they don't like that, they can stuff their faces with the chocolates or nuts.

Re: FAVOR STUFF

I'd just do one thing... just for continuity. If they don't like it... tough LOL.

And do the chocolates.
