Re: Favorite Font?

That American Scribe is very similar to Exponto and Caflisch...I have both of those if anyone wants them. Or you can probably get them for free somewhere.

ETA: Duh, I thought the font name was listed before and I realized you posted it after and it actually IS Exponto....der!

Re: Favorite Font?

I wish all fonts were free! I realize there is probably someone who slaves away for hours on them so its fair they get paid - but why are they so expensive??? I mean, couldnt they be like $5 each? That wouldnt be so painful and it would be worth buying instead of trying to find it for free elsewhere.

If you figure out how to get somethin American Scribe pls, pls, pls let me know :D

I dont have a great organization of my fonts. I tend to remember a lot of them. But it wouldnt matter anyway b/c I need to try at least 15 different kinds before I feel like ive found the right one.

I am the SAME way! Fonts are my life, especially since I use them at work when I create a layout!

Does anyone know how to back up your fonts?

I tried to copy and paste them to a CD and nothing happens.

I would be and if something happened and I lost all of them.

Re: Favorite Font?

In most fonts, you need to have 2 files to creat a font, a .pfb and a .pfm extension so make sure you are saving both of those Christine.

Thanks, I will watch for that but I can't copy either of them.

Re: Favorite Font?

I copied some by right clicking on the font in the file directory, then I selected send to A: drive to copy to a floppy. I was then able to just drag from the floppy to another computer. That worked fine for saving them on a floppy, and they worked fine after copying. These were all TrueType font files.
