Favorite LI Summertime Activity...

What's your favorite L.I. summertime activity? I know the beach is big up there but what else? The wineries? Splish Splash, Outlet Shopping?

I love spending evenings down at Smith Point Beach. They have a live band there nightly and it's so nice/family oriented...

any outdoor eatery, especially by the water!
I know its not long island... but lower Manhattan/seaport.

Patty McGee's, the nautical mile in Freeport has a bunch of them, Bayville has a ton as well as alot of South Shore towns (Island Park, etc.)

Octgroom, yes, alot of great shows. Too bad I'll be out of commission for the Sting show but maybe I'll be back in business for Korn!

I don't know what we do.

But we do like to come into the City for Street Fairs.

In L.I. I guess its pretty much fairs and stuff. I find during the summer is when I flee Long Island and go upstate or to Penn State.
*shrug*

You guys may motivate me to look around locally.

Driving around in the evening with the top down on the car...I won't be doing this too much this summer because my lease is up in early June I will miss my convertible so much!!!

FH and I both grew up in Long Beach - so pretty much all my fav summer activities have to do with beach, boardwalk, riding bike! I also love BBQ - smelling it, eating it, listening to crickets, sitting outside at night!

I have a lot of favorites, but I always look forward to dinner/drinks at a nice outdoor place preferably by the water. I always look forward to that and love to take advantage!! I am always on a mission to find new places!!!

Go out on my father's boat and just relaxing all day.
Hanging out in the back yard BBQing and playing volleyball.
Going to the ballon fest, going out east and walking around and most of all.......

But the thing i most look forward to is going to Jones Beach for the 4th of july. My FH and i get a radio, wine and a blanket and relax and enjoy the show...THis year we are sneaking in our mini pin

I have the info at home. Yes, on LI...It's all winter and spring. not sure when it ends. You can see them in wantagh and such.

I got the info at the JJC boat show. Its only like $20 to, and benefits some seal/water wildlife foundation.

I'll try to remember to get info when I get home

Please try to remember! I would LOVE to see that! OMG, who knew you could do that in here in NY/LI? I'm so excited! I may have to drag FH next weekend! LOL
