What is everyone doing for favors? I am trying to get some ideas..Also, what are you paying per favor?
I also made with my girlfriend for her sisters baby shower, scissor holders that can be hung on the refrigerator. They are made from a potholder folder into a cone shape then hot glued in place. We glued on some cute buttons and a magnet on the back so that it can be hung on the refrigarator. Some people think that given scissors is bad luck. It cost my girlfriend about $2.00 a favor.

I've seen them advertised in the back of bridal mags for approx $10 ea. But if you have a CD burner (or access to one) I'm sure you could do it for just a few dollars.

That's what I was thinking. I could download music of our choice from the internet. Then buy the CD's/jewel cases from Staples and even buy the CD labels which come with the software to print them. This would cost about $2-$2.50 per favor and will be very personalized. This is my new favorite idea.

That is exectly what we are doing. My FI has acess to a large CD burner (it burns 5 CD's at once) so we will go in on a Sat and do them all at one time!! We are in the process of choosing the music. It really is a very inexpensive yet personal favor to give. I will be designing the cover for the cd and we can write a thank you type of note inside to out guests.

Great. Lucky you, with access to a larger burner. I wonder how long it takes to do them 1 at a time...well, a few a night and we'll be done in no time. Thanks for the great idea! I don't know why I didnt think of it before. I really did want to give a "functional" gift but definitely something personal as well. When are you getting married?

It takes about 10 mins to burn each CD - according to my Fi who is the computer expert :-) So then you should be able to do quite a few each night!!

March 17, 2001. I am very excited about this idea..My brother has a cable modem line at his house so it should be a rapid download of the music as well. It will be fun picking out the music too. You can get Avery brand labels that include the software to do labels for the CDs as well as the inserts for the jewel cases. But since you have your own computer expert, all the better. My brother is in the field, thank goodness. Totally by coincidence, I am giving my fiance a CD burner for his birthday this Saturday (fate haha). I think he will love the idea b/c we are both into music and have taste. I like the note of thanks to the guests idea too.

We were interested in doing the butterfly favors, where each perso or couple gets a envelope and releases a butterfly into the air. Anyone heard of this???
