Oh ladies.....I just dont' know what to do anymore about favors. This has been by far my biggest stressor when it comes to the wedding. I don't know why I'm putting emphasis on such a thing but I want it to be something practical, perfect, etc. (I know, no such thing). I like the idea of a donation but for reasons I'd rather not get into, we can't do that. Every idea I come up with, my FH is less than excited about. I have come up with probably over 50 of them (all from my lovely LIWeddings girls) and my Fh has said 'eh?' to all of them. He wants it to be something thats important to both of us but exactly what is that? Our dogs??????? My mom is kind of the same way, so I've given up even asking for opinions. I like the idea of doing an ornament since it fits into the whole xmas/ snowflake theme and lenox has an affordable one (pictured) that I could add a tag that reads from our new home to yours but how do you compromise on such a thing? ugggggghhhhh (thank you for letting me vent!)
I like it and I am not really a fan of non-edible favors.
some people I know who have received Christmas ornaments as favors said they really like them, because every year when they put them on the tree, it reminds them of the couple who gave it to them.

Re: Favors
I think your favor is a wonderful one, and i would be honored to receive it~! As for opinions, and everyone having one.. I say to heck with them all.. except MAYBE your FH. lol... I feel my ears ringing daily bc I know someone is talking about me and my 'different' ideas... Those who don't like em.. well... thank goodness it's not their wedding They just have to attend and have a great time, which I am guaranteeing!

Re: Favors
I really love it!!! I not only think it's pretty but it fits into your theme and I would certainly use it every year. I cant say that about most of the favors I've gotten.

Re: Favors
I love the ornament...I think it is beautiful and I would be happy to get one as a favor...
I would overrule your FH on this one...especially if he is not coming up with any ideas on his own!
It is not worth the stress to you...I say go for it!

Yea, I have about five jewish people attending (I have no idea how that worked out?????) but that's kind of why I went with the snowflake so that it wouldn't be too christmas-y

I think it's very pretty...and useful. I hate getting a favor that collects dust or has no use. I can't tell you how many silver salt and pepper shakers I have!

Re: Favors
How can you go wrong with Lenox?! I think it's very pretty and not religious at all, so it would be ok with everyone IMO. As said earlier, since FH can't come up with something on his own, then go for it and give out these!

Re: Favors
Hey there date twin, I bought 100 of Lenox ornaments and lemme tell you, they're perfect favors. The snowflake one is my favorite. People can hang them on a tree, or in a window, etc. It's lovely, practical, and ties in perfectly with your theme.
go ahead and buy them. FH will be psyched that it's done.

The irony is that the ornament is in the shape of the Star of David. Since you have only a small handful of Jewish guests, the ornament is fine. I wouldn't only choose the snowflake because of your Jewish guests, though. You can make the ornament as religious as you like since most Jewish people won't be using the ornament anyway.
I do think it's quite nice.
ETA: The above comes from a Jewish bride :)

Re: Favors
I got that ornament this year and it really is beautiful in person. People could put it on their tree and think of you.. Maybe you could personalize it?
