Oh ladies.....I just dont' know what to do anymore about favors. This has been by far my biggest stressor when it comes to the wedding. I don't know why I'm putting emphasis on such a thing but I want it to be something practical, perfect, etc. (I know, no such thing). I like the idea of a donation but for reasons I'd rather not get into, we can't do that. Every idea I come up with, my FH is less than excited about. I have come up with probably over 50 of them (all from my lovely LIWeddings girls) and my Fh has said 'eh?' to all of them. He wants it to be something thats important to both of us but exactly what is that? Our dogs??????? My mom is kind of the same way, so I've given up even asking for opinions. I like the idea of doing an ornament since it fits into the whole xmas/ snowflake theme and lenox has an affordable one (pictured) that I could add a tag that reads from our new home to yours but how do you compromise on such a thing? ugggggghhhhh (thank you for letting me vent!)
hey, date twin! I love your idea! I am doing a heart shaped ornament that i got from a website called www.weddingthings.com - it was on clearance! They are a little smaller than I would have liked, so I am placing them in a silk organza bag and got ribbon and tags and will either have them hanging on a christmas tree in the room or at each place setting. Hope this helps you!

I like the idea. If your fh doesn't like them then tough crap. He doesn't seem to speak up. And its practical. That's my problem I donate want to get anything that people wont use and throw away. Something to remember.

Re: Favors
Ornament is a great favor. We almost did that one too (our wedding was 11/27/04 and Xmas themed).
We have an ornament from our friends wedding years and years ago that we put on the tree each year.
The ornament we were going to go with is actually a snowflake ornament that you hang on the tree that December and then in the spring you plant it and all flowers grow (and there is a cute saying on the back telling the guest to plant it and let it grow just like your love...).

Re: Favors
I really like it! IT's probably one of the more elegant favors i've seen! Is it Lenox? I love that it is porcellan...that is very wintery without being cheesy at all!
What do men know???
If it helps: We had an autumn wedding....at first...I wanted to do CDs of our favorite love songs...with a pretty autumn cover. Then it became more suitable to give something DIRECTLY autumnal...since the theme got so big. We ended up giving small maple leaf shaped bottles of Vermont maple syrup with pretty copper tags. IT was a perfect blend and Hubby approved; His parents live in Vermont, and a lot of his childhood was spent there...so it was a nice blend of both our loves.
good luck!

Re: Favors
To be honest, the ornament is the ONLY favor that I really really like - But I can't do it b/c it doesn't really fit a May wedding !! I'm doing Godiva Chocolate instead. But I think that is a beautiful favor !!! - Just do yourself a favor, Buy them, then the decision is made. It is really NOT something you should be losing sleep over !! Especially since it IS such a great favor !
