at my sister jean's wedding we did per person. our mom wanted to do couples, but thought per person.

I am with most everyone else---depends on the favor....my favors were martini glasses so one per person...it would have been insane to me to have one glass per couple...plus now people have a set

we are going to do one per couple. i just found a way to make CDs...and it seems really cute for under a buck per person! (although, i didn't actually factor in the ink for the labels...but that might make it right at a dollar...but i'll need new ink soon anyway!)

I went to a wedding where they gave 1 orange espresso cup per two people at the table. Not even 1 per couple. That was also the wedding where they invited my FI family and the other neighbors 2 1/2 weeks before the wedding.

I really just think it depends on the gift as long as there is one per invitation.
