Well, FH and I are paying for the wedding ourselves and just found out that we will have even less money than we thought we'd have! That being said, we are going with a totally economical favor that I think is fun and kind of unique... not to mention inexpensive! Scratch off lotto tickets. They will be presented in a vellum envelope, secured with a sticker with our names on it, along with a penny in each one to do the scratchin'. I figure it would be great if someone from the wedding won some money! And FH's family love scratch offs!!

WOW I love this idea!! FH's family are crazy about their scratchoffs too!!

I did photocoasters and got them from Blue Rainbow Designs (they have some really nice stuff and they are reasonably priced). They were under $1 and came in a clear plastic box with an ivory organza ribbon on the box.

i second blue rainbow designs!!

I did the LOVE coasters from Blue Rainbow. Got them on sale. They are a great vendor. Very quick(shop around though if what you are looking for isnt on sale...you can get really good deals )

Re: Favors

check out martha stewart 'good things' suggestions

We're doing one.... rosemary seasalt (perfect for a victorian harbor wedding uniting 2 foodies...)

got pretty hex glass jars for about 60 cents each, personalized labels from san souci, and the rosemary salt we'll of course make by ourselves. You could easily replace the salt with candies or nuts....

Re: Favors

We are doing cancer awareness bracelets (myeloma) to honor my aunt who cant come to the weddign bec she is very sick, and FH's grandpa who died of it. They are only 1$ per bracelet, and you can pick others, for example, breast cancer, etc. It just happened that myeloma was burgundy -- our wedding color. We are also donating $ to American Cancer Society to honor everyone in our collective families who is a cancer survivor, and we will include a note in our wedding program.
