Are you doing any kind of theme for the wedding?

What's the general feel of your wedding? You could have your favors go along with the general mood

I'm getting married in the fall, on a boat in the mountains and decorating with handmade quilts on the tables and baskets of apples. I'm going for a really casual home feel so I'm making cookbooks filled with family recipes as the favors.

Have you seen coffee scoopers, ice cream scoops or cake servers?
I've never gotten any of them but they seem like usefull favors!!

I don't know about you but I'm all for a favor I can eat! LOL (that's why I'm stressing about fitting into my dress!!)

We didn't have favors at the table... when the guests were leaving there was pastries, black and white cookies, other cute NY desserts and the NY times all spread out by the door. They picked up a pastrie bag with our names on it with the wedding date and filled it up b4 they left. Everyone loved the black and white cookies. Unfortunatly there was none left when we left.. . Boo!

Thanks... you should see if your RH does something like that. That's what ours suggested to us and we loved the idea... it's something the guests can really use... More Food! LOL

Congrats on your wedding!! Well, my hall provides the whole table of pastries when leaving..We're having the veineise hour and at the end of the party there is a table set up with coffee and pastries and goodies!!! I was going to do a whole 'in lieu of a favor, we made a donation to:' thing, But im not sure if everyone will like walking away without anything.. who the hell knows!! lol...

hmmmnnn
how about vintagy looking picture frames that can double as your escort cards ?

I haven't decided on a favor yet.
I am leaning toward the more practical item, I would really like to give desk clocks, just have to find them.

Re: Favors

I googled 'antique wedding favors' and there are some ideas there.

one site mentioned hankie's (I thought that was different)

a lot of the sites that come up are for 'Victorian' style items. Would that fit?

i love the idea of picture frames! very cool and practical.

Jlee8507, IMO, i think you are right - i love the idea of making a donation, but people might be disappointed to go home with nothing. maybe you could incorporate the two? have cards made stating that a donation has been made to X charity in the guests' honor, that you could put into a small picture frame?

This is what we did:

Espresso cups set, but redish instead of the blueish:

I feel the same way. I prefer edible favors.
