Re: favors
No kids at the reception, there aren't too many children in the family, and FI's brother (the only one with young kids), doesn't want to really watch them all night, he said he'd rather have a sitter so he and his wife can be more relaxed.
In lieu of favors, we are making a donation to a charity (Flowerfield gives everyone a small box of delicious truffles as they leave...so at least they are not walking out totally empty handed).
Who knows....in another few months, I may change my mind.

Re: favors
Has anyone found nice wine favors for approx $5 a piece? I would love to do wine bottles, even large wine bottles and do it per couple. Thanks!

Re: favors
I just got a mini wine bottle brochure in the mail today. They sell them by the case. depending on how many cases you buy the price is cheaper.
1 case $134.95 2cases $124.95 3 or more $104.95
The wine comes with 48 in a case so if you bought one it would come out to $2.81 per bottle. They are 6.3 oz bottles They also have the jelly bean bottles for kids that are $3.50 a bottle for 48 or more. This place looks cool. They do the custom labels and designs on the bottle for you. I will try and scan the brochure later. It is Specialty Wines Inc. in Upstate NY. Their website is www.specialty-wines.com Hope this helps!!!

Re: favors
Our favors were alcoholic (mini bottles of Baileys and Jagermeister w/almonds), so we made special favors for the 5 underage kids at our wedding (ages 12-16). I just put a bunch of candy in the organza bags, and I think I threw in some nail polish and makeup for the girls.
We're having children, but only from the family. Guests can't bring their children.
Favors are:
CDs (1 per family) handmade bookmarks
Edited to say: we aren't doing anything special/different for the kids unless we hit lotto

Re: favors
At my e-party I sat all the kids at one table in the back of the room, away from their parents and I set up a table for them full of different candy and I left them loot bacgs to fill. That kept them occupied for a while. They were sitting at the table trading candy for an hour. The rest of the time they were either eating the candy or out on the dance floor.
Thanks for the Website! I love this idea for favors. I love the minnie Wine bottles!

Re: favors
My fiance wants to do baseball cards for the favors, along with a donation to our fav. charity.
This might not work out, he wants something really authentic looking, not too cheesy and hasn't found anything yet. If he hasn't found anything by the end of May we're going to come up with something else (in addition to the donation).
I'm thinking mini organic chocolate bars, having several small vases with flowers instead of large singel centerpieces, I'm just not sure.
Any ideas (esp. those that are socially/environmentally responsible) would be helpful. We don't really want to do seeds or mini trees.
Hmmmm......

Re: favors
Oh, and the only kids are those in the bridal party and two others. We're thinking of doing journals and giving them the job of coloring us pictures and writing us notes about our day! We'll give them each a blank journal and some colored pencils.
