we're doing chocolates. I'm half italian half ecuadorian. fh is ecuadorian and that's where we live. Origianlly we were just going ecuadorian chocolates in little gift bags but now we're thinking of doing both italian and ecuadorian. We'll be putting something on the favor tag 'explaining'. I just gotta figure out some italian chocolates to give.

We may also be doing a donation (haven't told fh yet tought about it the other day but haven't told him) if I can remember to call Children International. When I was really young I traveled to ecuador quite a bit and the country was in pretty bad shape. There were children begging for money on the streets. You still see that now but not to the extent you saw that before. It was everywhere!! I always said that when I was older I was going to move to Ecuador and build a big house so that all the homeless children had a place to live. Obviously that is not so realistic (i can't even afford a house for us yet!!) but I wanted to donate to a charity that helps the children there.

If anyone ever wants to sponsor a child, Childrens International seems to be legit. I am always skeptical about htings like that but I know someone in ecuador whos brother and sister benefit greatly from them.

We are doing a donation to the American Cancer Society. I lost my mother in 2007 to Leukemia, my grandfather to lung cancer and my grandmother to Ovarian cancer. I want to help fund research that took so many that I love so I can be there for my own child's wedding.

We are creating a cook book that will be bound with contributions from all our guests. FH and I love to cook and it is a great way to get all those family recipies together. We are doing one per couple and giving either cookies or cupcake to the kids.
