I know that the rehearsal dinner is normally attended by the bridal party & groomsmen, along with out-of-town guests and that this is usually the time when the BP & GM get their gifts. My question is -- do we also have to give out a party favor at the rehearsal dinner?
I thought the answer was no --> but I just wanted to make sure so no one could brand me a cheapskate With only 11 weeks to go -- ACK -- we're scraping together nickles & dimes to pay all these vendors....
Oh, I remember the good ol' days when I was running around signing contracts & ordering items for thousands of dollars..... Now I'm up to the dreary part when I have to pay for all of it + take care of all the little details...
BTW, Can you tell I'm stuck at work and it's really, really, REALLY slow....

oh god, no, absolutely no favors at the rehearsal! That's when you will give your gifts to your bridal party and readers if you have them, and maybe to your parents if they are getting a gift. The out of towners maybe will have gift bags (water, advil, chips, etc?) in their hotel. That is quite enough!! good luck!

I don't think you have to give favors...I have never recieved one unless I was a BM or MOH.

I saw an advertsiement in a bridal catelogue for a favor 'for your wedding, rehersal dinner...etc' and I thought --> not another thing I've gotta buy!!

Favors aren't necessary at ANY party. I will be giving out favors (personalized CDs with our wedding songs which I think our closest friends and familly will appreciate) but they are not necessary.

I am not giving favors at the rehersal dinner. That is the time where we will give out the gifts for the bridal party.

We had our rehersal dinner at a chinese restaruant and I bought about 25 of the large take out boxes from our local chinese take out. We had a fall themed wedding so I decorated the boxes with silk leaves and filled them with candy and gum. It didnt cost too much and people really appriciated it.
It is not nesessary but it is something that I wanted to do.
