favors... need opinions

favors... need opinions

I was thinking maybe small photo albums and decorating them w/ flowers and such on the outside. 1 per couple. What do you think?

Edited to say:
Ok, maybe that is too much work. I had another idea too though,.. I found personalized individually wrapped candy at fortunately yours they are about $175 for 1000
Can I load up organza bags with them and make them pretty or is that being too cheap?

depending on how many it may be alot of work. It would be nice though!

That does sound like a lot of work. What do you want to decorate them with?

depending on what color i can get, i may have to paint them too.. i'd have to make about 65 or so, not too bad. I was thinking small silk flowers and ribbon for upper corner and along binding maybe? I wish I could find a picture of what I mean but I just came up with the idea today.

It sounds pretty, but you have to be careful with that kind of thing, you know?
You work so hard on it, and people may not appreciate or like it. I am sorry if this sounds bad- I don't mean it to, it's just that i have this same problem. I love to do crafts, and I always work so hard on things and people just don't realize the work you put into it.
I have all these wedding craft ideas and I bring them up to mom and she says 'people don't want that stuff'. I am sorry, I am rambling. I guess it depends on what they look like...

sounds really nice and meaningful. test one out to see how time consuming they are to make. you could always have bridesmaids to help you out.

LOL my MOH lives upstate (no bridesmaids) and she's quite literally deadly with a glue gun so no enlisting her help.

I'm being stubborn against doing ice cream scoops, which is what FH wants, so I am just brainstorming. I really appreciate all the feedback!

Sunny - my FMIL is the same as your mom. I don't care they're my favors and I can just as easily keep them all!!

I do not think that is cheap! Especially if you get 1000- so it is not like one or two per person.

Re: favors... need opinions

I figure even if i need to make 120 for one pp.. that is still approx. 9 pieces per bag. And I can definitely make them myself without breaking the piggy bank open.

If anyone else is doing a candy favor, you should definitely check them out - the prices are awesome and they have a lot of things that can be very nicely personalized.

I love that idea. I am doing the mini wine bottles and something else edible- I am not sure what yet. I was thinking maybe the Lindt truffles, or homemade peanut butter cups, or something like that. Fsmil is paying for the wine, so I won't be spending so much.

oh, PB cups would be really nice! And different - I've never seen them used before and you could put them in silver or gold candy cup papers instead of plain white or black.

That is what i am thinking- I know I can buy them from someone, but I am thinking of attempting to make them myself. I know someone who makes them, I am going to ask her how and give it a shot- otherwise I will buy them. Let me know if you want to know how when I find out!

Re: favors... need opinions

I know there's a special mold to make them that hollows them out inside, but i've never seen one. I'm sure most candy places have them.

I've done PB candy before and a good trick with it is microwave it first to soften it a bit (not liquidy though) and use an icing bag to shoot it in - it works great that way and when it cools it is a really nice, smooth consistency. Honey roast PB goes really good.
