Favors or NOT Favor... that is the question

So, Being that my religion is Jewish , I am having a Jewish wedding. But half my family (dad side) is greek. I have heard from many different people that Jewish weddings you don't do favors? I have been to alot of non jewish weddings lol So, I am used to the favor. Also, my Brother wife is like we should have something small considering that half the wedding guest are greek. I kind of a agree and FH doesn't.

I swear he living in a fantasy world when it comes to this budget for the wedding.

He like Jews dont do that and I am like well greeks do and not to sound money hungry but they are giving a gift (hopefully cash) so we can get them a favor.
Am I wrong? I mean yes our budget is very tight but come on

and does anyone know any good site for favors small and cheap?

It's up to you what to do, but what about making a donation to charity? Tell people that in place of a favor you've made the donation. That way you get the best of both worlds - a 'favor' feeling but having done something good.

We're probably going to do a candy bar as the favor, since it seems that everyone expects them but complains no matter what they are...who can complain about candy?!

FH and I are both Jewish and are giving a favor (some Jordan Almonds and a donation)

That's exactly it! We're going to get cute chinese take out containers (prob. from the container store...they're cheap) and put a sticker of our monogram on it and let them fill it up on their way out.

I would just do something small... like someone said, just jordan almonds in a box would be fine. I feel like favors are the last thing that should be purchased and worried about as far as budget. You get what you can afford.

I'll be the odd one out and tell you that we are not having favors. We're not having a candy bar, almonds, charitable gift, nothing. Our budget just does not allow for it. Would I like to be able to do something, sure, but am I super worried about not doing something, no.

So I say, do what YOU want. If you don't feel it's necessary, than don't do it.

It all depends chica... Do u and ur FH want to do it?

My Fh dont have a Big budget as u already know, but we want to include something little.... we are expendng no more than $60 because we are only having 40-45guest....

We went to Party city and saw some cute things very cheap... we have to go to Wrap with us in Syosset...
We would either do Candy/Chocolate... or something with a Pic of us so they can keep it as a 'souvenir' of the E-party...

I wouldn't worry about the jewish vs non jewish thing whatever you choose to do should be between you and FH.

I am sure you could meet in the middle - maybe not a tangible favor but a donation??

I think favors are nice if you can fit it in your budget - even if its just a small organza bag w/ a couple of hershey kisses in it.. simple to do, not expensive at all and who doesnt love a hershey kiss??? lol

if you want to do a favor, like the OP said, there are lot of inexpensive favors out there that you can get.

my FH & I are doing favors - and not cheap ones either since his 'Sicilian side' of the family is over the top and expects it.
