ugh 12 days to my wedding and I STILL don't have favors. I went to the city today to look for headpieces and favors. My mom works with somebody who owns this store in the city so we went there. THey have some house type things not many so didnt have alot to choose from. I did see one thing that was kinda cute and the packaging was brown and blue so would go with my theme. It had this round small hat type box and the box was open, the bottom part had the stuff on top of it and the lid is on the side and had plastic wrapping around it. It was a package of fudge cookies, this long tube with cocoa mix and cinnamon powder. Not crazy about it but only thing there that would even work
I am going tomorrow to a favor store so hopefully they'll have something. I received a nice favor months ago at a wedding and it was from this store.
Ok so question, what would you love to receive as a favor. I dont want alot of traditional things out there. My MOH mentioned martini glasses which is cute and maybe do that with a box of chocolates. Also was looking at the mini bottles of champagne maybe with truffles. Or doing this bowl set with chopsticks. I really am lost and obviously don't even have time to keep thinking about it, i also like sectional dishes or something like that. Or the mugs with the cocoa are cute.
what would you love to get, and would you prefer something for the house or edible or a combo?
Trying to see what the majority would say
Thank you

Denise,
Edible is the best especially if you're on a time constraint. I have the perfect thing for you. Marie Belle chocolates which come in brown and blue packaging.
hey i wanted to tell you that i went to fall bridal veils. Luckily i wanted something simple so she can do it by the time i need to. She was so very nice so thank you so much for the recommendation
i told her, if i have to pick it up the day before my wedding that is no problem at all and she said 'uhmmm yeah you will need to pick it up the day before regardless'
plus so many cute boutiques i saw on my way there. Now i know where to go for hm shopping
OMG how did i forget, she showed me your veil and OMG it is AMAZING . The detail on it is just stunning
its so funny i have the mariebelle saved bc it goes perfect with my color scheme and i always think about it hahaha
Denise I am SO glad!!! YAAAY!!! Check that off your list.. I work in the area right on 9th street. There are SO many cute places to check out.
I am so happy you saw my veil. I love it so much. It's from the Philippines. My aunt had it made for me.
yeah i had called her first and let her know right away that i am getting married in 2 weeks so to see if she can even do it. She asked if i am getting lace or any rhinestones or designs and i said no just a plain long cathedral veil and she said ok thats no problem then. I bought the 3 yard cathedral veil with just silk lining but straight edge, and then a second piece that is the blusher also with the silk lining.
But yours is so gorgeous, the work on it is WOW. She also showed me a picture of her niece bc she said she had a niece that was philippino and german i think, she said she showed it to you.
I know i was walking by and kept thinking OMG i have to come shopping at this store soon lol
thank you i will check it out
Haha! Margaret is so funny. Isn't she like a little grandma. Her store doesn't even feel like it should be in the east village! It's like a grandma's living room!
There are tons of cute shops and restaurants there. It's such a great area.
Aww, thanks so much for complimenting the veil. I love it so much. The details are great because my actual wedding dress (not the one in my album, that's the reception dress) is VERY simple. No beads, no lace so the veil is really key!!
Let's get you to order some favors soon!!!
hahaha yeah it is like a grandmas living room. She also took alot of time with me, and let me try on a few and sit there really thinking about it haha. She was very helpful. When i got there and told her names, she even said she was JUST working on sylvanias veil.
Yeah the veil will really go well with a simple dress. I can't wait to see pics of it. The section where your veil was she went through all these veils and many were nice but yours really stood out.
LOL well i am also going to try a place tomorrow that is all favors so lets see if i find something tomorrow. Also will try 1 or 2 more places and if not then im just going with edible lol its easy

those are really cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!
to be honest, i would LOVE those as a guest. i would certainly like it better than something edible.

definitely go with mariebelle...i'm actually using a company started by a woman that used to work for them (it's in oregon though and the box is red and white) and also one of my friends managed her store for awhile too...she (mariebelle) is an awesome person and her chocolate is out of this world...being that her boxes go w/ your color scheme i think it's a perfect fit...i've received one as a favor before and i ate them on the way home!
do you know if by any chance if you order a large quantity they give it to you for less. Some places will do this but not all. It would be perfect too bc i wouldn't have to package my favors

Yes, they definitely do. I ordered them for an event I did at work and they gave me a deal. Honestly, they are delicous, gorgeous and fit your theme. I think you can negotiate with them for sure.

Oooo ok good to know. Plus i would save money with packaging the favors bc i would want the design of the mariebelle packaging to show so that is a plus.

I had an idea. If you order Marie Belle Chocolates, order the Dulce De Leche (to represent Spain/Barcelona) and the Champagne flavor to represent France.
that's your HM, right??

And maybe do something cute like write a little note that says 'Since you can't come with us, have a taste of our honeymoon! Love Denise & Joe.'

oh wow you're good. I am too stressed to even think of anything creative 12 more days and my life goes back to normal and doesn't all revolve around the wedding hahaha. When i went to the city today i saw this cafe/restaurant and they had a terrace on the 2nd floor where you can eat outside and all i kept thinking is Oooo after the wedding Fh and i can actually do things like go into the city and have brunch. WOW how nice will it be to do that instead of running around to get everything done

Is there something close to your heart, somewhere you can make a donation? I don't know which chocolates you would choose, so I'm not sure if you could do both. I loved the sushi sets, but if you're worried about people who don't eat sushi, then the chocolate would be better. How many people don't like chocolate? And even better if you don't have to wrap with such little time left.

Thanks!!! I always like to incorporate little things that mean something! Try to negotiate with them. Also check out Vosges chocolates as well. They are a little more cost effecitve. They have a chinese takeout truffle box for 4.75... Maybe you can have them change the ribbon to chocolate brown and blue.
Soon enough, it will all be done and your wedding will be GORGEOUS

Ha...that's funny! I know, I really want to do the donation. But I feel like I still have to have something for guests to take home. Maybe I'll do something like this to add to it.
The mariebelle sounds nice, especially that their packaging is in your colors.
