So we have narrowed it down between 2 different bands: Faze4 and NYC Swing.
We have heard a few things here and there-- HAS ANYONE used them-- what were your thoughts?? I felt like NYC Swing was more 'pieces' to a band rather than Faze 4 as a more complete band. They are both very talented I am just very confused. Also heard that NYC Swing was a little inappropriate -- they take alot of breaks, outside drinking and smoking.................ANY THOUGHTS AND INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!

Yes they are both impressive bands, but NYC Swing is inappropriate! Like giving out business cards during a set on the dance floor. They need to get some class! Faze 4 all the way!

Re: FAZE 4 VS. NYC SWING
we used NYC swing at our wedding and they were nothing but amazing. And they did not give out business cards durring the wedding except late in the night to one guest who was getting married in the next year who loved them at our wedding. They also ended up hiring them for their wedding. NYC swing also did my SIL's wedding and were great. People were up dancing the entire night at both of our weddings, young and old!!

Which specific bands are you looking at? I saw the Original Faze 4 at a wedding a few weeks ago, and they were awesome.

I know nothing about NYC Swing but we're using The Original Faze 4 and can't wait! I've heard nothing but great reviews of them!

Uptown Swing was the NYC Swing band that we really liked at the showcase we saw. We've never seen them at an actual wedding though - and we opted to go with a different company.

You really need to decide what style you want. I wanted FAZE 4 but they were already booked. They are more of a pop style band and are amazing. NYC Swing is a swing band with lots of horns (too much for us)
If you are looking in that price range, can I suggest Soul Street

We used them, they are more of a motown style band...but they did everything from Bon Jovi to Flo Rida....people have not stopped raving about them. DH and bridal party walked down the aisle during the ceremony to Metallica played by the band on the flute and keyboard and I walked down to At Last..it was great..they were very diversifed and amazing
they have played for Billy Joel's wedding, Robert DeNiro and many celeb's. They are based out of Jersey so many girls on here have never heard of them but they rehearse in Manhattan where i went to see them. HIGHLY recommed them....Just check out their demo on the web and you'll see.
FM me if you want more info.

We were going to use NYC Swing (if we were going with a traditional band--ended up going for a cover band). They came highly recommended from a few sources; a friend of a friend had them at her wedding a few weeks ago and they were also recommended by my uncle who has them at his corporate events.
Dori (the bandleader) came to our apartment and showed us some pretty impressie videos! I recommend looking at them!

we are using NYC Swing. You can control the # of horns...when they showcase, they show you all their pieces, but you pay per piece, so you don't need all of them. They had so much energy! We chose 9 pieces for our wedding. 4 singers and 5 instruments. Dori is super nice and he gets really into it. They aren't cocky either like some of the other bandleaders. They showcase about once a month at Sir Studios. We looked at a lot of bands but we were so energized after seeing NYC Swing that we booked them right away...the only problem was deciding which band to book within. We went with the original NYC Swing b/c they were very diverse in their songs (current, oldies, swing, etc). I am sure they are all great though!
