Re: Feb '05 Brides --FLowers
I am using John @ Flowers Michele in Huntington. - He's awesome ! Just make an appt and sit w/ him - He will bouce ideas off of you constantly ! I originally wanted ALL roses, and then he had this epiphany that peonies are in perfect season for my wedding and practically lept out of his chair to show me pictures ! - He's a lot of fun and had GREAT ideas !! Good Luck !!

Thank you for your suggestion! I've been doing a little research and peonies are one flower i've been thinking of. Are you also getting married in feb?

Check out Carmine from Flowers By Emil . They are reasonable priced no matter time of year it is.

I am using hydrangea. Non only do I just love that flower, I think they look like snowballs - which fits with my winter theme. Calla lilies are always gorgeous too and available most times of the year.

Peonies aren't inseason until at least April. They can always fly them in for you but if you're talking about budget, scrap them because it'll cost you at least 3x's the normal price.

White hydrangea might be perfect in Feb. But doyou think it is too big for the bridesmaids bouquet? who is your florist?

Hi, I'm using Jack and Rose and I also went to see Burtons and Flower Michele. There did not seem to be a difference in the price of the flowers for being before Valentine's Day. I Specifically asked this question to each vendor and they said it has no effect on their prices or availability.

I am using white for the BM's boquets and blue for mine. I think my florist said he'll use only 2 heads for the BM's so that they aren't too big. I am using Master's and Co. in Rockville Center.

My date was Feb 28 and I used Atlantic Floral in Freeport. All roses..for everything...extremely reasonable. I think I paid a total of $1800 for everything.

Although that was a few years ago...but they've got to be competitive.

Well, it looks like this florist was just being pricey. I'm meeting w/james cress on Wed and Expressions (she works out of her house) not too sure about her... However, I've heard great things about floweres by Burton. Anyone have their information?
