FEB-MARCH-APRIL BRIDES

Did anyone else get their or think about getting their marriage license on Valentines Day ?

FH and I went, i thought it would be cute to have Feb 14th on our license....and it was crowded!! But mostly people GETTING married, guess they had gotten their license before....

Didn't even think about it to be honest. We still have to do this. I work a couple of blocks down from City Hall so I can walk up during lunch, but we just keep forgetting.

I think its up to 60 or 63 days beforehand, Im not 100% sure.

does FH have to be present? can i just take in the documents?

Can anyone tell me what documents i need?

And girls....did you know if you want your last name AND FH's last name you HAVE TO hypenate?? I had no idea. I just thought you could have Smith Jones instead of it Smith-Jones. Also she told me it HAS to be my last name first, then his, never the other way around. I always thought you could make your last name any way you want it!!

Unfortunatley yes, he has so be there too to sign and answer a couple of questions like 'have you been married before'. You need your drivers liscense and your original birth certificate. Some places I heard allow baptismal certificate if you dont have your birth one.

Yea the hyphenation is a must now. They are just having too many problems lately with people having both or just taking one etc. They also said you better make sure this is what you want because they can not change it unless you go through a lengthly procedure to do so.

Hi Date Twin!

Yes FH and I got ours in Hempstead town hall on Valentines Day!

They closed at 4:30pm and we just made it at 4:15pm!!

We beat the rush and we were the next to last people that got our marriage license that day- the couple after us (who were last for that day) were getting married on March 8th!

Yay!! Im so glad Im not the only one!! Great minds think alike.....same wedding date, same Valentines Day idea!!! Now if only we were the same hall, I would come next door and take a picture with you !

that was a few days too early for us. We are at 59 days as of today. I had work on VDAY until 7 anyway, so that wouldn't have worked for us.

I think that is a cute idea though. Apparently a lot of others had the same thought as you.

oh wow, your lucky! yea the lady we had in Huntington was really strict....and a lil coo-coo LOL
