Feb unemployment- 8.1%

I almost cried when this was released seconds ago. I feel so horrible for everyone.

This is up from 7.6% in January....I'm so afraid of hitting 10%. I'm going to lay low today and do LOTS of work. My prayers for all of you and all of our loved ones!

It's so sad. I get depressed hearing this. They are saying unemployment rates may go past 10%! That's BAD!

Girls, some of these stories might be of interest. I like to hear stories from those who lived through the Grest Depression. I think some of these little stories, hit a cord with me, because of some of the lean years in my life. During the 80's, when construction took a nosedive, my DH and I lost our house and business, but THE LORD brought us through that very difficult time, and restored blessings to us. And here we are again, going through another construction nosedive; It's been scary, it's been depressing, and I look to THE LORD, to guide us through this storm. May HE also bring stength to those of you in the same place as we are in!!! Mary MOB

that was a very interesting thing to read, thanks for sharing that with us! :)

i am one of those who just lost my job this week (today was my last day) and this is really a big shock to me and i am so speechless about it. i have been so sick to my stomach about it and have not stopped crying about it! i have been so depressed and feel so hopeless.. it really stinks big time to be one of those and have to go thru this right now, especially during this wedding planning! thank god for amazing friends and family and fh, or else id prolly be jumping off the manhattan bridge or something right now, seriously this has been so hard for me! =;(

i cant believe how bad things are out there.. its so sad!

good luck everyone with everything, especially keeping your jobs.. this is no joke!!

I'm living this nightmare first-hand. FH got laid off during my week off in February. He's sending out resume after resume, and nothing yet.

AND, to top it all off... Our closing date for our house is 'on or about March 15' which is this FRIDAY!!!!

Good thing is, FFIL is self employed, so he's putting FH on the payroll to make it look like he's been working for him.

The question is, how long do we have to fudge it? We can handle a few more weeks, but he needs a paycheck!!!

im so sorry you are also going thru this. it just so so sad and terrible out there! i just cant believe it! never thought we would live to see this, but unfortuntely we have! and i know this is going to take a very long time to get back to normal, and it just stinks.. i have also just lost my job and it really has been tough and rough and havent been doing well dealing with this.. it stinks big time, and it isnt fun at all! i am not going to sit here and tell you to think positive and tell you to do things i myself am not doing, cause i know how rough and how hard it is to feel positive with all this that is going on.. its crazy out there and we just have to hope for the best! =/ i wish you the best of luck and that your fh does find a job soon! i am in the same boat so i can really relate to how you guys are feeling! =/ hang in there.. as i am trying to do the same! xoxo

Yeah I was in line @ the job fair in the city this week and it was just disheartnening to see everyone b/c you felt like WOW this is reducing my chances. .

I know selfish thinking but I REALLY felt that way!!!

My company went bankrupt and I have had trouble since finding steady work -- I temp and take contract stuff whenever I can find it!

But b/c of the economy it's very few and far between. . .

I am blessed with my FH and my family but I've been working since i was 16 and this is just not going well to be leaning on everyone else.

I've been toying with the idea of just sucking it up swallowing my pride and just trucking it around to see if I can find some part-time retail or something -- B/c with wedding planning and just life in general I need something more coming in!

i feel you and i know exactly what you are feeling and going thru girl.. that is what is happening with me and at this point i am just looking for whatever is going to give me a paycheck and some money to get thru this wedding planning.. cause right now this is not fun at all!! i have so many things i want for my wedding, i want to order and i am really holding back on using my credit card, but i have a feeling not for long i will be able to handle not using it and i will have no choice but to go ahead and get what i need and want for my wedding and just putting in my credit card.. it really stinks, but what am i going to do?? =/ thank god i dont have the big vendors to pay for, fh is taking care of that and with the help of my parents and his parents we are getting a lot paid for also.. or else id be screwed! =/

good luck with everything hun!

FH just got a huge pay decrease and since I am student teaching (no-pay) it is going to make it almost impossible to meet our mortgage and all our bills. He is pulling money out of his 401K to pull us through until I can get a job, but it *****. But we keep saying, at least he still has a job.
