I am very glad that the courts are not stepping in and making a precedent setting verdict.

I agree... i feel bad for her parents..this will be hard but it is time to let her go

As you know I am sensitive to this issue because of my father being in a persistent vegetative state on a feeding tube. While my family agrees that pulling Dad's feeding tube is not an option, I think the world and the courts and every aspect of government should respect Terri's wishes and allow her guardian to do what he and his wife discussed. Government has NO role in issues of the heart.

My father never had that discussion with mom and us kids at any time before he got ill. People of that generation never did. Knowing my father, I know he wouldn't want this existence for his family. It is a constant state of mourning and he is still here. Almost 6 months in the hospital now (not even close to 15 years).

we had something similar with my grandmother...she was about to sign the papers stating she did not want extremem measures taken in case something happened, and then she had a heart attack and a stroke and was in a coma for 5 years. she was gone....but there was nothing we could do about it.
eventually, when she got pnemonia, the doctor asked if my dad wanted it treated or not....and it went untreated, so she eventually passed....but it was terrible to see her alive, but gone....
