Feedback and thoughts on Crest Hollow CC

Hey everyone!
Right now my #1 choice is Marina DelRey in the Bronx for our 2008. Last night we went to check out Crest Hollow CC & my FH really likes it. The grounds are beautiful...
thoughts, insight, good feedback, bad feedback..help!??

We're in the plaza. I like the viewe and the terrace. It's great for smokers...they don't have to leave the party too long.

okay mag, help me out here.. the plaza.. that's upstairs right? the one with the window at teh end of the room? or is that the one with windows all the way down the side (beautifull..)

I am getting married there too! I have only heard good things about that place and I can't wait to have my wedding there!

Plaza is upstairs and on one side there's full length windows with doors that open up to a small terrace. It has a view of the pool but not straight on. The one with the straight on view is starlight. They both look similar...you can tell the difference by the chandeliers. THe plaza has a big round one that looks like ice. The Starlight has hanging glass chandelier, plus little lights built into the ceiling.

gotcha!! i wish they had more pictures on their website... lol. i loved the plaza room.. that's the one i wanted.. but my bm encouraged me to go with the starlight cause of the time of year.. if it seems like it's gonna be a super warm january i'mma see if ican switch back.. il ike them both so much though...

I think they're both great. I know, they need to step up their website.
It could be warm in Jan....our e-party was on Jan 6th and it was 70 degrees during the day--crazy!

I just got married at CHCC in January and it was amazing. We had the starlight room. I had a great experience working with everyone there...i would totally recommend them.

I'm in the Emerald room..the ground floor..I was originally going to choose a room upstairs but my wedding party won't be that big...and besides, I like that the bridal suite and restroom in on one floor..that's just me...

I haven't seen the upstairs room yet, there was a party there when we went to visit, so, I think we are definitely going to go back. We are planning on getting married in the warmer months..
Have you done tasting yet..how's the food, etc.
Also, how do they handle the multiple weddings going on?

they stagger them from what i was told, hour and a half increments.. so one party is done with their cocktail and moved into their recpetion before another party is scheduled to begin.. i liked that a lot bout chcc.. i went to wm and they stagger at an hour.. that means everyone ie out in the lobby at the same time moving from one place to the other.. and jt, i wasn't sure how they staggered cause when i went there there was one bride taking pics out side, one in hte lobby, one on her way into her cocktail and one upstairs in the dome room.. i was like goodgrief!! i also didnt' like that the bm showed me the ch room while there was ch in there.. tacky.. we had to literally dip around the bride to get in there.. tacky tacky..

As I was told, there is no tasting at CHCC cause there's no chef on the premises. I heard from ppl that went to events there the food is real good and the cocktail hour is grrrrrrreat...keke..

Honestly, I like the Marina Del Ray WAYYYY better then the CHCC. I went to a wedding at MDR a few months ago and it was by far the most amazing reception I have ever been to. The food was incredible....we had about 7-8 entree choices at least and I went with the apricot chicken wrapped in bacon and it was amazing but I could barely finish because the appetizer, salad and CH were soooo over the top. The room had a GORGEOUS view of the water and bridge and we had use of the whole outside area and it was a great night so we had a nice time outside as well.

FH works at Crest Hollow and can vouch for the food. (he is the pickiest person about catering halls and restaurants) He eats there 5 nights a week and comes home tormenting me with all the delicious things he ate that night. I keep trying to get him to line his pockets with tin foil....LOL

no not the plaza..i think the room next door to the plaza.. the garden terrace? overlooks the pool they use it for ch.. right across the hall from the ballroom..

Maybe the Starlight Room? Balcony to the right, huge, beautiful chandelier in center?

FYI...my friend went to a wedding at the Crest Hollow this past weekend (she was a 2003 VL bride) and she had a glowing review. She thought the grounds were beautiful and thought the food was delicious--and plentiful.
