Feedback on the Riviera in Massapequa?

I am thinking of booking my wedding to be held at the Riviera in Massapequa in Dec 04. Anyone has any feedback on their food, service, ect. Please let me know. Thanks!

I would also do another search on the place. There have been many posts about it, and mixed reviews.

Hi,
I am a Riviera bride 7/30/2004 and i can only say good things abot the place and the people who run it. First of all it looks nothing like any other hall I have been to, not your typical LI catereing hal.l its all dark wood with a great bar and big deck for the cocktail hour. The people we delt with, Kristy and Michelle and the owner actually too, were all terrific.
As far as the food here it goes... JMO but wediing food is wedding food unles you pay $$$$$$ its never going to be the best food in the world. We did our tasting during a wedding and it was fine. You can read my post if you check back with previous posts but in short it was fine out of like 10 things we tried my fiance didnt like teh baked clams and we both didnt like the beef teriaki
(however i never would order this at a hall anyway)
Also there is a showcase on 2/27 that you can sample even more of their food. Forum mail me if you have any other questions.

Thanks for all the feedback. From what I can read, I can see that the Riviera will be nice. I am having a small ~130 wedding in Dec 2004, so I think it will just wonderful. I agree with what someone said about the warm dark wood and the two fireplaces make such a cozy feeling. My FH was hooked on wanting to book at the Manor East, so I had to do some convincing. We are going for our food tasting this Friday evening. I will be at the Expo in late Feb. I am exicited; I hope to find a photographer possibly while there.

I went to a wedding at the Riviera on Jan. 25th. It was very nice. Decorated beautiful with the fireplaces on...it was a very pretty.

The cocktail hour food was wonderful and their was alot of it. The dinner choices were prime rib, chicken cordon blue, and salmom. The dinner food was ok, but not nearly as good as the cocktail hour. I don't want to upset you, but I am being very honest. They serve the dinner with mixed veggies and garlic mashed. The mashed were VERY garlicy.
Over all the wedding was wonderful. Everyone was very nice and accomidating. (the wait staff)

I forgot to mention dessert...my favorite part...it was great...alot to choose from...

If you have any questions, feel free to ask away and I will let you know whatever I can.
