feeding band members?

if the band tells you they don't get fed, how do you tell your RH that? im a little confused - they're not included in your count?

You usually pay 1/2 price for vendors (which includes the band) and they are given food to eat outside the regular area of the reception, like in the cocktail room. You don't make a table for them and you don't pay full price for them.

Speak to someone at your RH about exactly how your hall does it.

If you're saying that your contract with your particular band says that the band will NOT be eating at all, then you also have to speak to your Bridal Manager at your RH about that because most RHs will require that you pay to feed them, especially if they are there for more than a certain number of hours. You may be able to show your band contract to your BM and not have to pay for them, but I somewhat doubt it. I think you're going to get charged vendor pricing to feed them either way.

A band we were interested in said the same thing, that they don't expect to be fed. I mean there are a lot of them, that's a lot of extra money to feed them! Mine aren't in house vendors either. I am curious to see how this works. I can't imagine that the RH would count them in the head count, they aren't guests!

our RH told us that once our minimum is met the band members eat for 1/2 price

You have the option not to feed them. They can eat at the cocktail hour. You don't have to feed them it's just a courtesy (and expensive courtesy)

I would check with the band specifically ... I mean if you were playing music for 4 hours wouldnt you want a meal? Just saying. You want people to be feeling their best.

If you dont pay for their meal its expected that the money be made up in tips. They wont say that but its to be expected. If you would pay lets say $85 for their meal, if they dont eat, I would add maybe $50 onto their tip!
