So something we didn't budget for (completely slipped my mind) is that we are expected to feed the vendors who will be there all night. We have an 8 member band and 2 photogs.
Are we expected to offer them the full menu selections that we're giving all of the other guests, or is there a special menu that we can have for them? Is that tacky?
ETA -- I'm not saying they shouldn't be fed -- I'm happy to feed them I just don't know how I feel about offering them the same menu choices as everyone else.

Re: feeding the vendors??? please help
Vendors need to be fed regardless. If you're using a house vendor, your venue may not charge you for their plate but I think that's on the venue by venue basis.
I know they're not providing you with a gift but they're offering a service....it should be ok....let them eat.

Vendors should definitely be fed. Does your venue offer half price for the vendors after you reach your min..?

I have no problem feeding them, but I don't know if I should have to offer them the full menu selections or if it is acceptable to have a different meal for them.

The usually get the same food as your guests. However, your RH may have a seperate eating area for the vendors. Just check with them.

Re: feeding the vendors??? please help
MY RH offered 1/2 price (I think) for my vendors eta: I wouldn't mind paying full price for them, for example my photographer was with me since 9 in the morning and the DJ was there from 11:30 to 6.

Talk to your RH.
They will either offer a discount on the vendor meals or a different menu for them at a discount.
But yes, you really need to feed them.

Why don't you ask the RH what options you have for them for dinner?
Years ago I worled for a dj company and when we got fed it was always whatever the 'chicken dish' was. We never complained. And you can't go wrong with chicken.

I spoke to our BM who said the more options we offer, the higher the price -- so maybe we will just offer them our chicken dish. Thanks!

I'm sorry I just re-read the email. It's $45 per person as per Amy (thank God I do everything by email and have it in writing). I could forward you the email if you want.
How much did they tell you?!

What we did for ours was the hall made a half menu for them-offering them a little of everything and they got to eat at the coctail hour too...
And did you know the owner of the RH told us that usually if you feed the vendor you arent supposed to tip them? I never knew that. I tipped anyway but smething to keep in mind... lol

My RH charges 2/3 of the price for vendors and they sit at a separate table near the front. Thanks for reminding me! I forgot to budget that in!

Re: feeding the vendors??? please help
My venue had a flat fee ($350, I think) to feed all the vendors. We did it. No point in pissing anyone off at the wedding!

Mines $50 for the vendor meals. If they even have meals.
