I have heard different opinions from everyone and now I'm confused? Is it proper to feed vendors? I assumed yes for the band but my girlfriend said she didnt when she got married because they picked at the CH.... Opinions please.....

Re: FEEDING VENDORS
We fed ours. We ended up having far less people come so it wasn't that big of a deal. We also paid half price for ours.

Re: FEEDING VENDORS
we fed all of our vendors. the RH usually gives you a discounted rate for vendors. also, not all vendors will be able to 'pick' during the CH, like the photographer and videographer.

Re: FEEDING VENDORS
Vendors should not be mingling with the guests and picking at the CH.
Feed the vendors. Your RH will offer a vendor meal usually at half price, or sometimes for no charge if they are a house vendor. You will feed : the photographer & assistant, videographer & assistant, DJ or band, lighting guys if you have them.

Re: FEEDING VENDORS
u should plan on feeding all of ur vendors....ur dj/band will most likely bring their food up behind their equipment..but yes. they are human & need to eat lol. u dont want any of them passing out on u! usually the rules are vendors are 1/2 off, and if they're an in-house vendor most reception halls dont charge. i had my 2photographers, videographer & two dj's(dj&mc)..they're really the only ones that stay unless u have a d.o.c or are keeping ur makeup artist on hand....luckily my RH let me fill them into my gauranteed minimum(since we fell under just before the wedding) and i only had to pay for 2 at 1/2 off.

Re: FEEDING VENDORS
our RH is charging half price for outside vendors and free for house vendors.
so we have to feed the makeup artist, photographers, videographers, and band.

Re: FEEDING VENDORS
You should absolutely have meals for any vendors that are present at the reception. However, they should not be eating at the cocktail hour - that's pretty inappropriate on their part.

Re: FEEDING VENDORS
I was told by a certain vendor of mine NOT to pay for him to eat. He said that my RH usually feeds all the vendors regardless and he wouldn't want me to waste money feeding him when the RH's feed them for free. This is coming from a vendor of mine...so I'm going with his word.

its actually in my photographer's contract that I need to provide her with a meal- but regardless, she will be with me from noon to after midnight, I would have gotten her a meal regardless

Re: FEEDING VENDORS
I was a wedding at Jericho Terrace last week, and the videographer from a different wedding snuck into my cousin's cocktail hour and picked at the food.

Re: FEEDING VENDORS
I did, but I asked all of them-some said no others said it was my choice. My photographer was with me for 12 hours...they needed to be fed

Re: FEEDING VENDORS
Yes, you should feed your vendors. I guess you could mention to them that you plan to feed them, and let them object, but I think it's expected in most cases that you will.
Most halls will give you a special deal w/ respect to vendors.
At NRC house vendors are free, and other vendors are 1/2 price. That helped a lot with our band

My photographer says that too! And it has to be a hot meal. I think, good for her. I wouldn't want my photographer to be starving, or annoyed with me for not providing her food!

Re: FEEDING VENDORS
It's in my music band and videography contracts that the vendors are to be fed...my photographer-- who will be with me from about 12 noon--is the only one who doesn't have it in the contract, but I think he deserves it the most!
