Feeding Vendors

Re: Feeding Vendors

in reality you are supposed to feed your vendors and sometimes if you book the vendors that your RH recommend they either don't charge you or they cut the price in half

I told my vendors to eat at the CH, I definitely CANNOT afford even half price of what I am paying in order to feed all of my vendors and their 'assistants'. One of our vendors said they know our RH and they usually feed them anyway.

have you spoken to your RH about this? I would bc believe it or not even when you pay half price, its usually CH food that they give them. I paid half price for my vendors and most ate during CH. The RH sees it as the same thing and still charges half price even if its CH food. INFACT most vendors dont get fed the same meals they feed to your guests, even if they eat during the reception. They have separate vendor meals

Most vendors expect to be fed- You should check with them when you finalize you plans. Most reception halls offer a reduced rate.

Re: Feeding Vendors

you absolutely are supposed to feed them. Talk to your RH because most places will allow u to pay 1/2 price, and sometimes even free if they are in-house vendors(ie: reccomended by the rh)...also if u fall short on ur minimum, some halls will allow u to include them in ur count. but yes, it ***** because it adds up, but they need to eat lol.

Because we didn't hit our min we had to pay full price for the vendors...and I had 16 vendors. Plus you need to pay tax and gratuity. I think it's crazy!

i will be feeding my vendors, they are 1/3 off at my hall though. At most halls though if you use their house vendor, they will eat for free.

I fed all of my vendors - DJ & MC, Photographer and his assistant. It's one of those things that are expected for you to provide. You can't assume that they will be able to eat during your cocktail hour. Our DJ was setting up during that time and our photographer was taking photos.

My RH gave us vendor meals at a discounted rate and was willing to include them in our count if we were short the guarantee number.

you're supposed to feed them. my hall does $25 for house vendors and $50 for outiside vendors.

i have heard though that some halls let you order in pizzas for them instead, saves you mucho money

I don't think we plan on feeding the venders durring the reception...they can eat at the CH. But one of my venders gave me a little piece of advice since they have worked at our RH several times. He said that we shouldn't pay for the vender meals because our RH will end up giving them a meal anyways. This is just from his experience though. I think its crazy to spend another 80/90 for 12 or so people.

A band I met with kind of told us the same thing...the RH would feed them anyway.

I Don't want to feed the band. They are there for 5 hours and could eat a big meal before they come! I have a 10 piece band and I can get an extra station or something I want for that extra $. I HATE all the extra tipping and stuff on top of paying SO MUCH for a service. My fiance will try and make me feed the band but quite frankly I dont get free lunch when I go to work nor do I get paid when I am doing a job. I emailed the band but the guy hasnt gotten back to me. I am hoping they say they dont want to eat.
