the two places we went said we would just tell them how many we want blocked off...under 10 or 15 was no charge to us. they are blocked at a certain rate until a certain point before your wedding, if no one books them then thats okay, if they do great. And if you need more then the number of rooms you blocked, it won't be gaurenteed that you get them... but if you garentee too many you may need to pay a percent or amount for unbooked rooms

You block off X amount of rooms at a hotel for your guests at a discounted rate. You do not have to pay for them, but you could (if you're overly generous). This way, your guests have a place to stay if they don't want to go home and don't have to worry about finding their own hotel or rooms being sold out. This is especially good for OOT'ers who may not know the area well.
