Feeling a little sad

As a 7/7/07 bride, I am so super excited that it is almost time..the only thing is my grandfather died in January. He was sick for a really long time and all he kept saying in the last months of his life was '777' and that he would be there. It just kind of feels like while I am so happy, there's a small dark cloud over my head right now. I just keep visualizing having a picture taken with him in my gown and I am sad because now that won't happen. Just needed to get that out of my system..thanks!!

i'm so sorry to hear about your grandpa. i know it's not the same as having him there in person, but it sounds like he loved you a lot and I know he will be looking down on you that day. maybe you could find ways to carry him with you that day - a bo-k charm with a picture of him, a dedication, etc so everyone knows you're thinking of him and how much he meant to you?

i know it doesn't help one bit, but i never knew my grandpa and i've always envied people who have had a chance to grow up with one or more grandfathers - it's such an amazing relationship to have and you're so lucky!

keep on being excited for your special day - i'm sure he'd hate to know you were feeling sad.

Thanks so much for your kind reply..it made me cry a little (but a good cry lol!!)...I got a memorial candle to place on the altar for that day, so I know he will be there!! FH is sad also, because he never knew either of his grandfathers so my grandfather was it for him as well. It's true, I should look on the bright side, as my cousin said, 'At least your FH got to know him and love him, and he knew you were getting married to a great guy!'...I will definitely keep that in mind as it gets closer...thanks so much for being so nice!!
