FEELING ALONE

FEELING ALONE

In this madness called planning a wedding, do any of you brides ever feel alone?? Do you feel like friends just don't care or like you have no one to really talk to about things? Like even FH is pretty much annoyed at the fact that I am always looking at wedding stuff and talking planning (and I've only been planning for like a month!!! )

Anyone feel that way?

Re: FEELING ALONE

I have some friends that ask me every day how the planing is going which can get annoying b/c i dont do something wedding related everyday LOL But then i get others who dont ask at all and could care less so that bothers me too.... So i guess what im saying is that i feel 'alone' with some peple but bombarded by others

Re: FEELING ALONE

Absolutely. I am the oldest of my friends, by a two or three years, and the last to get married. I absolutely feel sometimes like they don't want to hear about things... been there, done that. Now everyone is in to talking about family planning. I try to express to my FH that sometimes I feel so out of the loop, but I don't think he understands. Probably because all of his friends are just starting to get married, and guys don't think like us anyway. I'm hear to listen though! And so are the rest of the girls here... that's why I love this place so much! It's instant access to a support system.

Re: FEELING ALONE

I do because I'm the first in my group of friends to get married and sometimes i feel like i am bothering them when I ask them to come along to appointments, etc.

Re: FEELING ALONE

I feel alone, only because all of my friends are like most of you, where they have so much booked already and keep asking me if we booked anything and how come we aren't and just trying to stress me out, when I don't want to be stresses out. I just wish they would realize everyone plans their weddings at different speeds. I just wish they would be happy for me and let me plan the way I want to plan.

Re: FEELING ALONE

I feel alone with the planning all the time - my sister (my MOH) gets annoyed whenever I have pictures b/c I show everyone and FH just tells me to do things and asks me when I am going to get things done (like calling the band and ordering the invitations for the e-party). That's why I come on here as much as I can b.c otherwise - I really don't have anyone to talk to about this stuff. And I haven't told anyone in the BP that they are going to be a part of the wedding yet - so I don't want to talk to any of them either . . . grr.

I totally know where you are coming from.

And NWR - i am a teacher too (And I know how many of us can relate to that) and when we have these days off - I am all alone b/c everyone else has to work. So feeling alone a lot lately.

Re: FEELING ALONE

You are 100% right and I definitely am grateful for this site because I know that even when I want to talk about the most 'trivial' of wedding planning things, no one will ever bat an eyelash or roll their eyes!! Thanks ladies!!!

But yes, some of my friends are already married and they have their own things going on and THAT'S FINE.....and then I have other friends who are completely single and who are totally into THAT scene and THAT'S FINE TOO.....but yeah, I guess I have to make the most of it for myself and not worry about anything else!!

Re: FEELING ALONE

I def fell the same way. I remember one time I was talking about to my best friends about the MY wedding and she keep talk about is her and how she will look... no no no I had to quickly refocus her.. oh also i just hate when people just change the subject real quick like this is not important to them 2.....

Re: FEELING ALONE

my FH humors me when i start talking about the plans...he doesnt wanna be that involved, but yet lets me talk his ear off about it..

but my friends, i never see them. they hardly call me just to see whats up..theyre into the whole going to bars and stuff all of the time. 1, i hate that scene..im such a homebody. 2, FH & i dont wanna spend the $ on such things..we'd rather stay at his house, watch a movie and save money....

so in that aspect, i def feel alone...

I worry b/c most of my friends are married or will be married by the time I get married and I do worry that some won't be that into when it is my turn. But I am sure they will be!

Re: FEELING ALONE

i feel like that too.
my friends could care less and never ask me any questions and when i bring it up they tend to change the subject. FH is sick of listening to me and my parents could care less.

Re: FEELING ALONE

I def understand how you feel! After a while, your FH will start to think your planning obsession is cute. Mine does At first he made fun of me and got annoyed that I was looking at this stuff but then he realized what it is to plan a wedding. I made him watch some of the We TV wedding shows! And, please- some of my friends could care less that I am getting married- so I am in the same place as you and I am sure many others are too! It will get better!

Re: FEELING ALONE

I don;t feel that way with FH- he is very involved but wth friends and even my sisters, sometimes yes. I sometimes chalk it up to maybe I am being annoying and talkign about my day too much or i chalk it up to people having their own lives and they may have something going on in thier life more imp't too my wedding. what keeps me going is that FH and I are thrilled about our weddign and that's what counts plus you have all of us to talk too
