I'm feeling bad about not making my sisters MOH. I have two younger sisters, they're twins and I didn't choose either of them as my MOH. I picked my Best Friend. Problem is, I didn't inform either of my sisters that I didn't pick them. I'm having anxiety over the situation. My one sister is being a HUGE biotch everytime I mention the word wedding. She's been engaged for 2+ and she's not even in the wedding planning stages. I have a feeling that she's a little bit jealous and she takes it out on me whenever I bring my wedding up. My other sister is flat out lazy. She doesn't have a job and has no plans on being gainfully employed. Neither of my sisters has been particularly helpful or happy for me since I've been engaged. This is the main reason why I haven't picked either of them as my MOH. My BF has gone everywhere with me and has been super supportive. I guess I'm just looking for opinions, comments maybe to know if i've done the right/wrong thing. Thanks.

I dont think you did the wrong thing......a good friend of mine didnt pick either of sisters, but it was b/c she couldnt choose one over the other.....which could be true for your situation as well. Tell them you want them to be equally involved in all the planning and to work with your BF to make everything perfect! If they ***** you out then their selfish and immature and you should tell them that you thought long and hard about it and you feel that this was the best solution and all you want is for them to be happy for you.

You have to do what makes you happy. Don't let the engaged sister ruin your day, but try to be understanding of her jealousy because it must be hard for her to see how happy you are and that she still is not in the planning stages. I saw this happen with a good friend of mine and she was miserable that her brother got engaged and married while she was still engaged. The best thing is to be honest with them, let them know that you chose your friend to avoid having to choose between them. I am sure that they will get over it. Good luck and keep us posted. Just remember don't let anyone ruin this time for you!

You have to do what makes you happy. I mean, me personally- I have two sisters- I made both of them my MOH. But, I am close to them. If you feel your best friend is the closest to you, then by all means!

my sister will only be 17 for the wedding and i still picked her to be my maid of honor (she cant really do anything that a maid of honor would typically do and she lives in florida) but i picked her because she is my sister and i love her....i also asked my FSIL to be my matron of honor - she will be able to guide my sister and help out our Mothers since planning things (like a shower) wont be easy since my family is in Florida....since you have two sisters you can just say you couldn't pick one over the other and that is why you chose your friend instead - but i have a feeling that both of your sisters feelings may be hurt i dont really have any advice for you - its a sticky situation....what does your mom think you should do?

Re: Feeling Bad *kinda longish*
My mom has kinda not been very helpful through everything. My mom is disabled and ever since she's been ill everything has been about her. So, I don't really go to her for advice because she can't clear her head and think about anyone else for more than 5 seconds. I go to my Aunt for advice because I'm close to her. She said my MOH should be someone whom is close to me and someone whom I trust. Me and my sisters have never been particularly 'close'. I love them, but, we've never had a super close relationship.

I do not think you did the wrong thing. I am not choosing my sister as my moh simply because she wouldnt be able to deal with it, let alone being a bridesmaid.
She prob is jealous, but, do not feel bad.

don't feel like you did the wrong thing! it's your wedding and you can't choose a MOH because she *should* fill that role... you choose her because you *want* her to be in that role. it sounds like your sisters are a bit jealous and i think all of the brides (me included) are experiencing that from someone in their lives. you made the right choice so don't feel guilty!
