Re: Feeling Selfish/Materialistic ... ENGAGEMENT ring

Do others see the 'imperfections' or just you? I understand your predicament since you are obvious bothered by it, but your FH clearly is upset that you want a new ring.

I am sorry, I am NO help!!

Re: Feeling Selfish/Materialistic ... ENGAGEMENT ring

i actually have the same problem with my solitaire. i just noticed the inclusions after having it for about 5 months. they are really small and you have to squint at a wierd angle to see them but i know they are there!

i totallyf feel you because i mentioned it to FH and he got upset. my big concern was that it was appraised correctly, so i am thinking of asking an expert what they think.

i dont necessarily think its selfish. you have to wear the ring for the rest of your life. i know its not the same thing but if your FH got you a pair of lets say manolo blahniks that werent right, he would let you exchange them, right?

Honestly I think you should keep the ring he chose. He picked it for a reason and I would be highly offended as well if I was asked to downsize the ring so it had no inclusions.

Not to hurt your feelings but you should be greatful for whatever ring he gave you. The ring is just a symbolization of his committment to you..it should not matter if there are inclusions.

JMO ~ I don't mean any of this to be harsh but there are worse things than having a ring with inclusions

The only reason the Bitc@ commented is because I can guarantee you she is Jealous.
I personally would changing the setting.
Set the diamond down so you are unable to see the flaws from the side.
I have a 3ct solitaire too woman can be soooo caddy.

I mean think of it this way-- for a completely flawless, D color, Excellent cut 3 carat diamond we're looking at astronomical monetary figures. My stone has a couple of inclusions but it's E in color and an excellent cut so it's beautiful and the cut makes it shine brilliantly. So basically I'd rather have better color and brilliance rather than inclusions you really can't see whereas brilliance you can see from a mile away- not to mention the huge rock!

That lady was jealous and rude, pay her no attention!
