Feeling down about job

I am currently a leave replacement at my dream job...and I just found out the person I am in for is coming back- and there don't seem to be any positions for me, even though several teachers are retiring in my department. I keep getting mixed signals, but I just don't have a good feeling about having a job there next year. I'm just really bummed because I love my kids and my district, and I got attached to all of the people I am working with. Now I have to go on interviews all over again...I'm just really bummed. Really? What subject area? I'm English, and it seems as though there are only about 2 districts on LI looking.

Im certified Elem/ Special Ed!
I had a demo for another position in my district, but they said it would be a few weeks till we hear something and i had another demo for a district in Rockland County! If neither goes through, i dont think i can do another one!

one of my BMs is actually a guidance counselor in the exact same position as you. She landed a leave replacement job in an excellent district and now the person she is replacing is coming back next year and she doesn't have a job. She's getting married next year too. She's only been on one interview so far. Education is not an easy field to find a job with on Long Island. I'm also working in a private school right now making like minimal money. Keep your head up I'm sure a job prospect is out there!
