The reason is going to sound really silly but I'm really sad. For my engagement party, I chose March 22nd because my sister and her husband would be up in NY for Easter. A few days ago, I passed a bridal shop that is close to my house and saw a dress I really liked in the window. I got really excited and decided that while my sister is here we would go and I'd get to try on dresses for the first time. I called the shop and their hours for the days that she'll be here are too early for us to go. So I can't try on the dress I wanted to with her here.
Then today we went to my favorite bakery, La Cheesecake, to order the cake for the engagement party. They wont make it because its the weekend of Easter and they are crazy busy for each holiday (like a line around the block).
I started to cry because it made me really sad. I know it's not my sister's fault but not having her here really s u c k s. I miss her so much - all the things that we used to do together we can't because she's not here.
I try not to mention it to her because then she gets sad and we both cry. I know it was the best decision for her to move to North Carolina but I''m just so sad.
Now I dont know where I'm going to get my cake from and I can't stop crying.

awwww sweeti! go into the bridal shop, find out what dress and style is it, and then call around ot other shops to see who else has it with hours that work for you and your sis!
as for the cake....whistle stop bakery on lawson blvd is oceanside makes some AMAZING cheesecakes also!!! and of coarse theres always the cheesecake factory!!! i LOVE the white chocolate rasberry truffle!! mmmmmmm now i want cake!

I think that you missing your sister is a perfect reason to feel sad. I know that it is hard not having your family around and it is really hard during your wedding planning.
As for the bakery and the dress shop ... these are also valid. I would be completely frustrated also. Is there another bridal salon that has the dress? Is there another bakery that will be able to make your cake?
Try and cheer up. If you tell me your location I will do some research for you on the dress as well as a good bakery.

When my twin moved to Mass a while ago I missed her alot! She moved back to NY about a year ago and I am happy again!! I know how it feels to miss family it stinks! Feel better
I would try to find another place that has the dress and another place for the cake or Can you get it the day before? Did you ask the speek to management. Explain that you have been going there for years. That may help

I am so sorry about everything Angela! If you want have my sister call Midesimo she is really good with convincing people to do things for when it comes to stores and stuff. I am sure it will work out. I was far from my family for 5 years and I was sad a lot so I know how it is.

i'm so sorry that you're missing your sister... i hope that you can find that dress in another shop and go with her. you seem to have a really great relationship, and even though you're far apart, you're lucky to have that.

i know how it is, my sister lives in Florida and I miss her alot because we cant do the things we used to. I wish she would move back sometimes.
