Feeling sad...
Now that all the responses are in, only 22 of the 65 people in my FH's side's list are coming...
I knew my side would outnumber his by a lot because our guest list was so much bigger, but it's going to be even worse now. My family had very few 'no's' and it seems like no one from my FH's family is coming.
He doesn't seem too upset about it, but I feel terrible because I know things would've been different if we'd gotten married in Massachusetts (which was our original plan). My whole family definitely would've come from NY...
I am alternating between being sad that so few of FH's relatives will be there and being angry that his relatives couldn't make the 4 hour drive...It really amazes me how unimportant our wedding is to some of them.
Sorry...
Just had to vent...

Re: Feeling sad...
Sorry to hear that. I have the same problem except reversed. A lot of my friends aren't coming because the wedding is in NY and we live in Texas. My side of the guest list is like 20 people.

Re: Feeling sad...
i'm in the same boat somewhat. all of FH's family is coming but that's only about 35 people, the other 100 people that are attending are my family and our friends. he doesnt feel badly about being outnumbered by so much but the seating chart was quite interesting. feel better, as long as it doesnt bother FH then dont let it bother you.

Re: Feeling sad...
IT stinks, but at least some are coming. Those that are really happy for you will be there and will help you celebrate.

Re: Feeling sad...
I'm so sorry you are sad. What you have to remember is that on our wedding day, all of the people who are most important in your lives will be there to share in your happiness. For the ones who can't, or better yet won't make it, that is unfortunately a reflection of their character. Don't let others ruin any part of the planning process for you or make you sad.

Re: Feeling sad...
Sorry you are sad about this. My side also out numbered DH's side. His relatives from Boston last minute canceled..the night before..9 of them!
It will be fine...it will all fall into place.

Re: Feeling sad...
i haven't sent out invites yet so the responses haven't even begun, but i'm pretty sure no one in my family will be traveling for us either. it's a sucky feeliing but try not to let it get you down... especially if it doesn't seem to bother him. you have each other and on your wedding day, that's all that should really matter
