Hi Ladies! I'm a newbie and hoping for some help! I recently started searching for my RH and am feeling like I'll never find the perfect place. We're planning on having 100 people, and we'll be having our ceremony there as well. My FH and I are paying for everything ourselves so we can't go too nuts with the price per person. I've been to Villa Lombardi's, Thatched Cottage, Crestwood Manor, Bellport Country Club, Smithtown Landing, Sunset Harbor and Windows on the Lake. We're very open to time of year since we're trying to save money but we were thinking April or May of 2012.
Crestwood Manor gave us the highest price by quite a bit which surprised me. I thought they would be more affordable because it was pretty small, and they had virtually no where to take pictures. Out of all of them, I thought Smithtown had the most to offer for the best price, but I didn't absolutely fall in love with the place. Based on the pictures and reviews I have seen online, I LOVE Flowerfield but I'm almost afraid to go there, thinking I'll love it but the price will be over our budget. Can anyone make any suggestions of other places to go? We don't want to go over $100 pp. I'd love all the help I can get!!

Don't get discouraged. Are you open to a place that has more than one wedding at a time. If so you should check out Crest Hollow Country Club. You get a lot for your money there. I am getting married there on a Friday in April and I am spending significantly less than $100 a person.

Re: Feeling so discouraged
WELCOME!!
I am a March 31, 2012 bride and I got GREAT price quotes for that time of year! I can message you more details. You shouldn't have to pay more than $90pp unless you go to a really fancy venue.
I am messaging you now...

Hi,
Don't get discouraged just yet. You'll find the perfect place to have your wedding. Stick to your budget. If you set the cap at $100pp - hold fast to it. Don't forget to factor in tax and service charge, which is usually 20%.
I having my ceremony and reception at Fox Hollow. Some other places you can check are Swan Club, Ariana Waterfall (pricing is on the website) and The Metropolitan Caterers.
Good luck and happy planning.

That's so great to know! Crest Hollow is a place I figured to be out of our price range! Thanks so much for the info

Re: Feeling so discouraged
I just sent you a novel... LOL
Places I didn't mention are Swan Club and Chateau La Mer because I think you can find more unique places at that time of year. If you MUST have prime season, then these are good places to check out.

Re: Feeling so discouraged
I get why you feel that way. I'm quite new at all of this, too, and it's really overwhelming. Today, I went to the Riviera in Massapequa, which was $90 a head, but we're looking at a Saturday night in June, so that's peak. We also went to Timber Point Country Club in Great River, which is $85 a person. I hope this maybe helps some, but don't get discouraged just yet...you'll find the perfect spot, just remember to step back and take a breather if it becomes too stressful.

Re: Feeling so discouraged
My friend just checked out the Venetian yacht club in Babylon. Its beautiful and I believe the minimum is 100 people. She said for Friday night it was $90 pp and Saturday I think she said $115.
Would you be into a Friday night wedding? Lots of people are even doing a Thursday night wedding. If you give your guests plenty of notice, they will be able to make arrangements
Good luck and enjoy the planning! It should be fun and not stressful until the week of lol

The minimum is 150 but maybe it varies on time of year. Mine is in off season but the min. is definitely 150. I know their slow season runs until the middle of April.

Hey chicka! Dont stress too much!! Try Watermill Cateres in Smithtown! They are amazing - treat you like fam! My fiance and I are on our own paying for wedding also and were having about 75 people. The price was 59pp, really great for what you get! The food is also AMAZING! Call and ask for Frank. He is THE BEST and WILL work with you! We got a fondue fountain and ice sculpture thrown in because he liked us! lol

Re: Feeling so discouraged
You ladies are all so helpful, thank you SO much!!! We're very open to different dates and it certainly doesn't have to be a Saturday night. Have any of you been to Thursday night weddings?? I'm curious if less people come to them or if they don't stay as long??

Re: Feeling so discouraged
Listen, we stayed under $23,000 for everything. RD, dress, rings, DJ, RH, flowers, photog, invites, etc..... It can be done, so don't freak! stay calm and do your homework, and always check your budget so you don't go overboard with something that seemed like a good idea. You can definitely do it
