Feeling so down...

Feeling so down...

Alright, I'm probably still very, very hormonal and stuff but I feel so blue lately and I can't pull myself out of it. I feel stretched so thin between the two jobs, the baby, the house, etc. Things are not perfect between husband and I (when have they been? ) and I feel like the problems in my family have reached an all time high (Dad's not doing well, Mom is startiing to show signs of Alzheimers, things are still lousy w/Brothers/SIL re: CPS situation, etc.). Everything just seems to suck lately (with the exception of Amber, she is my reason for getting up in the morning). I hate my job and feel incredibly under-appreciated there and at home. I feel like taking the baby and splitting.

Yesterday my sister called from Texas to tell me about this little boy she was babysitting. He is the son of her 'friend' down there. The mother is straight from an episode of 'Cops'. Missing teeth, living in a trailer, etc. She was bringing the little boy over every day with something new (illness, etc.). Everytime he comes over ill, he gives it to my niece/nephew. He had something pretty bad and pretty contagious a short time back that the doctors think resulted in my sister's miscarriage. You can't help but feel pity for the little guy. It's not his fault that his mother is a piece of crap. The time he spent w/my sister and her family was the only real structure and care he was getting. She was taking him to church, feeding him on a regular basis, heck even basic care like washing she was doing. Anyway, he contracted head lice (from his pig mother's environment) and now my BIL refuses to let him back into the house because he passed it on to my sister's kids. He's had enough and he's tired of being responsible for caring/essentially paying for and raising this little boy. He actually was starting to call my sister 'mommy'. So my sister had no choice (her husband was livid from spending $100's on cleaning the house, medication for the kids from various illnesses, etc.) but to tell the mother she couldn't have Shawn over anymore. All I kept thinking about last night was how sad this little boy must be; how he probably thinks he did something bad and that's the reason he's not being babysat by my sister. How the only love, care and support he's ever really received he'll be without from now on. I'm crying now just thinking about it.

I don't know what I'm looking for here, just to vent I guess and hope that things aren't so crappy in the days ahead. I really feel like I'm about to crack...

wow - you really need some hugs!
I wish I had some better advice for you, but all I can say is to try and focus on the positive and that will help carry you when you're down.

Aww Sharon I just saw this now and I simply do not know what to say, hon.

I wish I could say the magic words to make all your problems go away and help you feel better. It is such an awful feeling when it seems like everything is going wrong and there is no light at the end of the tunnel , and the blues really kick in .. I know what its like to be in moods you cannot snap out of ,and you truly have every reason to feel the way you are feeling based on what you wrote here !

For now, all I can say is that you know we are all here to support and these boards are great soudning boards and allow us to 'vent' . If there is anything i could do to make you feel better, of course I would do it in a second!!!

many to you!

Re: Feeling so down...

I am so sorry that you have been feeling so down. It has to be so hard to have two jobs and raise a baby. How are you doing it? You should be giving yourself so much credit. It would be a miracle if you didn't feel a little overwhelmed. As for that poor boy living near your sister, that would absolutely break my heart. How do people live like that? I couldn't even imagine treating my dogs like that. I just hope that there is someone at his school that might pick up on what is going on at home. Maybe a good teacher could step in and try to help or at least give him some guidance or call the right people to try and help..... I hope you feel better soon.
