Feeling So Sad Right Now

Feeling So Sad Right Now

FH was home and he got a call from the store where my dress is coming from- they had told me the other day that it would be in either the middle of this month or no later than the end of the month..
they told him that my dress would be in by the end of the month (my wedding is March 9th) due to shipping problems they have been having.

This suddenly made me so very sad now- also a bit worried as well. I feel like I am not going to have the gown in time and I already have my headpiece and veil in at the store.. idk what to do .. should I call them up and ask what happens if it doesn't come in on time?

I feel like I will have to run in the end to David's Bridal and just buy an off the rack dress that many women tried on and also have to buy a new veil and such just because of all this going on...I want to believe that it will work out but I'm just nervous atm about it.. sad thing is FH will have his tux before I get my gown

I am sorry. It will end up ok. I know how frustrating that can be. call back & see if you can have someone else on the phone this time who can be of more help. The can rush shipping, on their part. I even gone to place in person to get things sorted out.

Wishing you luck

I ordered it back in May- I remember the date because it's my MoH's birthday.

I spoke with them last night- they said it was due to a problem in shipping the gown from the manufacturer- they assured me that it would be the end of January. They also said that I wasn't the only one this happened to.

I can't see myself having to go and buy another gown- especially a 'second choice' gown - FH said when he was on the phone with them 'Danielle's going to be p..sed about this when she hears about it'.

I also don't want to seem like a Bridezilla demanding my gown when atm there's nothing that they can really do to get it here any faster.

Also if it comes down to it my aunt (who helped pay for the gown) is going to be giving me the 'I told you so' song and dance because this was the gown I really wanted. She just wanted me to choose something from David's Bridal and be done with it.

It will be ok though, end of January you will still have a little over a month to do fittings....I'm sure the bridal store will do alterations fast b/c they know what happened--they don't want your dress not being ready!!

Don't worry! After having a *slight* wedding dress meltdown yesterday (all resolved, thankfully) I can tell you that it will all work out! My dress just came in on Tuesday and my wedding is only 35 days away. They have to get you your wedding dress....as several people told me yesterday (which was excellent advice ) just breathe!!!!!

I hope not considering that they have been nothing but excellent to me (which is why I am not mentioning where I am getting my gown from).

I just am trying not to think about it atm but it's just getting me depressed that I might have to wear a gown that I may not really love or like.

You won't....don't even think about that, it's really not going to happen! their business depends on making you happy, and you said they've treated you very well so far--they want you to be happy, and you will be!!! Put this whole buying another dress nonsense out of your head! You will be a beautiful bride in YOUR gown!

I'm so sorry about this happening. However, you will have over a month to do fittings before your wedding, so alterations should be finished by your big day. Plus, if your bridal shop can't do them in time, I'm sure there is someone here who could find you a seamstress. We're all in this together.

Re: Feeling So Sad Right Now

I'm also concerned that because of the timing that the person (my FSIL) is not going to be able to make the fitting to learn how to bustle the gown...there's really nobody else to do it since my other BM's are OOT people and my MoH is getting over from giving birth via c-section last night.

At this rate if they can't do the alterations I am going to be even more stressed and mad too..I don't know of any other seamstresses that can do the job if I need any alterations- not sure if I am going to because the sample I tried on was two sizes smaller than me.

don't freak out you still have plenty of time...I'm sure they are very well aware that they will need to haul *** on the alterations because of the shipping issue...but they did say it could be the end of the month and they are keeping within the time frame they said it could be so I wouldn't worry...they are professionals.

Don't freak just yet. You still have some time but call them and speak with them and see what they say

I'm sorry to hear about all this unnecessary dress stress? It really seems so simple that the order should be placed and the dress arrive in time...especially since you ordered so early. Where did you purchase your dress from?

I think you still have plenty of time Danielle. Any later though and I would demand that they have the dress expedited at their own expense. You're still in the clear!

try not to worry----these things happen allllllllll the time...i've seen on these boards time and time again. the dress will be here and you'll have plenty of time to get it altered!

**UPDATE**

I called again today and it seems that because of the Chinese New Year in China the shipping of the gown is delayed.. It will be expidited once everything is cleared up and I'll have my gown by the end of this month... so I am going to sit tight and hope things clear up.

Just wanted to thank all you ladies once again for calming me down and your wonderful support!
