FeliciaDA and PrincessRose -- please read

OK, so apparently, I'm giving off some very negative vibes to you guys and it resulted some negative comments about me in the last thread.

Let me clear something up, anything I say is in fun, I am not confrontational and I am not negative and if I offended anyone with my comments, I apologize. I do not enjoy getting under people's skins and would hate to think that people avoid my threads becaase they think I am negative.

As much as you guys love the Yanks, I love the Mets --maybe I'm too passionate, maybe I get too emotional, that's the nature of who I am and I can't apologize for how I feel, but if I am making people uncomfortable in the process, then for that I do apologize and I will try to tone down the Yankee-bashng for the sake of this board. If someone makes a comment about the Mets or the Yanks that I don't agree with, I simply won;t answer it. I'll still respond to other posts and do the wrestling thing, but I will tone down the emotion that goes with my baseball posts, as I've seen it makes people uncomfortable and I don't like to do that.

So, hopefully you can accept my apology and we can move on.

I accept your apology. All I really want is that a little golden rule following happens.

I don't bash the Mets because I don't like to hear people bashing the Yankees. I only ask for the same in return.

if you're into wrestling, i would invite you to check out my other threads, they are very low key, we just talk about the upcoming shows and stuff, we usually agree and when we don't, we don't bash anyone

I think you've gotten to know me a bit from these boards, maybe a bit more than you have PrincessRose (since I participate in these baseball threads more regularly).

Just so you know Rachel, I'm as guilty as Don is in flaming these debates. So in Don's defense, I have dished it out as much as he has when it comes to Yanks/Mets topics. I've commented negatively on 'Mets threads' with sarcastic posts, which I realize in retrospect were not so nice of me. So in essence I am as much to blame when the Yankee/Mets threads get 'out of hand' some days.

But as I wasn't able to keep up today (darn it - work got in the way!) so I didn't catch everything that was said, etc.. Rest assured that no offense is taken on my part. Somehow I've always sensed that Don isn't trying to deliberately insult or hurt anyone's feelings.. you like to get a good debate going, and sometimes the respective passion for our teams makes those thoughts get out of hand.

I do know how passionate you are about the Mets, and I've always said I admired that about you. I appreciate ANY fan of ANY team who fights 'till the end in defending their respective team. I wouldn't want you to change that, nor should you!

Sometimes things come across really rough when the debate gets heated (esp. when they are only typed words, its hard to interpret things correctly). I certainly never tried to 'bash' anyone or hurt anyone's feelings, and I never thought you were doing that, either.

That said -- I really appreciate you writing to clear this up. I don't think any of us want to make these boards a hostile environment, esp. based on the topic of baseball!!

Most importantly ... Don, I hope our subway series bet is still ON I think its the differences between the NY fans of BOTH teams that make this great city so interesting when it comes to subway series time

oh it's on, rest assured, and i've always said that new york wouldn't be half as fun without the subway series -- the rivalry is great -- i love the trash talk, but i guess not everyone does

from here on out, i will keep any negative comments about the yanks to myself or will send them via forum mail

i mean, when you hear that people are avoiding your other threads --SHEESH!!

Its funny Felicia, we were at my parents house this weekend and my brother is a BIG BIG Yankee fan. We call his room the Yankee room because all he has is Yankee Posters up. I should take a picture of it.

I asked Don if he wanted to do the picture for your guys bet and he said he wasnt ready to put the shirt on yet.

Its much worse in your family, people have stopped talking to each other over the Mets/Yankees.
