Found a dress I absolutely love but was way over my budget. This was $6,800 (not including the belt, additional $500). If it was half I would have purchased it on the spot, but I can't justify myself for spending that much. Has anyone been in this situation?
Oh boy that is beautiful. But you can probably find similar ones in a lower price point...I suggest bringing this picture to your appointments as an inspiration. Good Luck!

This is why you give them a budget lol I won't try anything on outside of my budget so I don't end up liking something I can't afford.

I gave them a budget of $3k, but I didn't find anything I liked then she said there is this one dress that is out of my budget that she think I will like and asked if I wanted to try. I told her sure why not, guess was a mistake..lol

That's an absolutely stunning dress. One of the rules on Say Yes to the Dress is to never show a client a dress out of their budget!! I recommend you look around at some other designers - I'm sure you can find something somewhat similar! Fingers crossed for you!

This is stunning -- I think you can definitely find something similar bit maybe purchase the belt from there so that you have one element that's exactly the same!

That dress looks phenomenal! Try to find something similar by a different designer that is in your budget... if not, cut something else so you can make it happen haha!

What about contacting the store from I found the Gown. I think it's called Bridal Power. I believe that you can tell them what dress you are looking for and they will call you if it comes in. They are usually sample dresses but they cost half the price.

I agree! Buy the belt at least so that you can use it for the look alike dress that's in your budget!

I fell in love with a gown also outside of my budget. Now I'm having trouble finding anothe dress bc I've been comparing every dress to that one.
I believe there is a Jim Hjelm dress similar to this one and I'm almost positive it's less expensive. Try looking for that. What designer is this dress?

Your dress you tried on is gorgeous! Did you try looking at maggie sottero gowns because some of her gowns look very similar to what you tried on for around 2,000$. I am deciding whether I want Camden or sarchi from her collection. Take a look I hope it helps.

Would you consider buying it preworn? You can try preownedweddingdress.com or tradesy or recycled bride. You can def get the dress for steal that way :)

Maybe cut down on something else so you can afford this dress? Or find a dress with a similar style for cheaper.. At least you know what you like, so that's a huge step forward! Good luck!
