I can't wait until we get our own thread either, I swear I'm addicted already. Im trying to take a few weeks from thinking about it hear and there but its always on the mind.
Reception is at Jericho Terrace (valentine's themed) don't know if we are having ceremony here or at church though

Photo--still have to look need to make appointments with Jefferey Studios and Sherwood Triart!

Flowers --Someone on here showed me a cool website for candelabras( I had a dream about the candles last night)LOL

Got dress need shoes and everything else Know who i want for hair and makeup but they said dont call until aug 2005 And i sort of know what i want my bridesmaids to wear just have to get them to the store!

Dress - Eve of Milady (Bridal Reflections)
Photographer/Videographer - We met with Duet & loved them. BUT we also have appointments with Patken, Cassarino, & Perceptions this weekend.
DJ- Will look after the holidays
Limo & Flowers - Will wait until 6-9 months before wedding date
598 DAYS LEFT...WILL IT EVER COME????

Is everyone else having a hard time accepting how expensive things are?!? I'm looking at photo and video and it's ridiculous. I feel like the packages are always going up too so I need to book soon before I miss a deal!

Whoa, am I behind! We are going this Saturday to book our March '06 date.
Question for you all....is anyone questioning you getting married in '06? Some people I've told are like 'Do you want to wait that long to get married?' My answer is 'March of '06 is only 1 year, 4 months away! I need time to save $$ and plan!'
I don't relly care what people think, I just think it's odd to be sharing happy news with people and have them question it? Thoughts?

We are waiting due to $$$ too. Plus we have tons of OOT guests, so we wanted a holiday weekend. Finding a hall with dates open for holidays was not easy!

Its so funny that you say that Im getting married in Feb 06 and I get the same response. To me it's really not that far away, gives us just enough time to save the money that we need and I want it to be perfect. They don't know what they are talking about, Time will fly and before we know it ours days will be here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I can't imagine planning a wedding in less than a year! (maybe less, if I've ever been to a wedding or had family that recently got married) With the amount of vendors and price ranges out there on LI I really think you need to shop around. I'm also the first one of family and friends to get married, so we are starting from scratch. No past experiences with vendors is really making me search around so I know what's out there. I don't like being rushed to make a decision, so this way we can enjoy the engagement and do my shopping around!

Hey everyone how's everyone's planning going???? So far I've done....
Ceremony/Reception- John Anthony's on the Water
Flowers, Limo, Video, Photo, Grooms Part Tuxs and Invitations- Wedding World
DJ (reception cocktail ceremony-video/photo montage(sp?) and percussionist)- Party Connection
Dress- Didnt start looking yet but it HAS to be Eve of Milady! I absolutely LOVE them.
Ceremony Music- Completely picked out already
Most of the menue is planned already
Bought rose petals for the tables already
Got candle abra center pieces through hall already
Brides maids/moh dresses picked out already
Picked out my bo-k
Engagement Anouncements_ through some little printing shop in Medford - They were great
Engagement Pics-Sears Bayshore Mall they were great
I think I am done planning untill the spring I am taking the winter off !

That's it so far!!! I'm anxious to meet with photo/video, but I just don't have the time right now - or the $$$. They'll be my first attack after the holidays, as well as flowers.
I know what color I want my BP to wear, and I'll give them the flexibility to choose their own dress.
I'm soooooooo sick of people telling me that it's so far away. As I ranted on another thread recently, if they want it sooner, than they can put up the big bucks. Otherwise, it's got to be by our schedule, and that's for 2006!! I haven't gotten any large unsolicited gifts recently that could make me move up my date. Plus, I kind of want to take time so I can enjoy the planning, and not run around like a rabid animal trying to get it all done in no time flat!

I am going to call the church today and hopefully try on the maggie sottero that I have been eyeing on saturday.
