marymoon don't be nervous...you have plenty of time! Especially since you are a december bride. I would use that to your advantage when negotiating since it's not the most popular time of year to get married. That should definitely help with the $$ factor.
The only reason I got moving on my plans was because we knew we wanted a Labor Day wedding. Once I started with the hall, I kinda got into the flow of things so I started some other research.

I love to talk to all the 2006 brides! ...and yes i still get the famous,'2006!!! WHY SO FAR AWAY..' or, 'WHY ARE YOU WAITING THAT LONG,' or my favorite, 'YOU MIGHT CHANGE YOUR MIND BY THEN!' but i still ignore them..and vent on this board. So far we have: Reception: glen island harbor club in New Rochelle Church: St. Helens in Howard Beach Photo: infinity studios Video: Riccardo video productions Band: Paris We also booked our limos I got my dress this past weekend, to much surprise already, but could not turn it down! We are taking a break now, but really got a majority of things done! Hope everyone else is having as much fun planning as i am!

You 2006 brides are great! I hear all the same questions, especially from my FH family. We've been together over 5 years...what is 2 more!
As I posted earlier, I did the hall, church, & surprisingly (once again) got the DRESS! What do you guys recommend holding off on? Our plan is to book the photographer/video before the holidays & do the DJ after the holidays. Should we wait on flowers & limos???

Flowers are tough. I think I am meeting with at least 6 florists to make my decision. The last florist I meet with is the first week of Jan so I should book one by the end of jan.

Hey the way I see it we have a little less than two years lets utilize our time!!! I have planed Church- Christ Church in Pt.Jeff Station Reception- East Wind in the Estate and everything for my engagement party is booked (which is April 9th) I get the why so far away speech to, but I still have one more year of college left...and that has to be done first! I also get the wow....you booked it already speech from people too.... I dunno I like to be organized I guess....I just have more time to save money and shop around for the best price!

We have the hall, Crest Hollow, photo/video, Duet, the priest and I have my dress!
We are checking out DJ's this weekend and my godfather owns a flower shop so that is taken care of and my uncle is a printer so the invites are done.
I really wish I can do everything now but I'm trying to be patient.

Just the hall and church are done. I have been working two jobs for the holidays and to push us ahead hopefully so when we are ready to book some more vendors..the funds are there. I think the limos can wait since there are a newer cars that are coming out....I rather wait to see. Flowers, unfortunately I have no clue on what I plan on wanting. I do want to get the photographer/video out of the way but I am so out of the loop on what to look for and I dont want someone to crazy expensive either!
Hopefully after the holidays I will get back on the ball. I give credit to all the 06'ers and the things you guys have done. I will be catching up soon!
