Fellow 'budget brides'...

Fellow 'budget brides'...

I still need to book photography and video, and it's a detail that's super important to me. But, I have a limited budget. Who did other budget brides book? And if any budget brides don't mind, FMing what your budget was?

I also need to book flowers. However, my hall claims we must use their preferred florists. I am NOT happy about this because I don't think any of them can fit within my budget. I think I will need about 18 low centerpieces along with 3 BM BoK, my BoK, bouts, etc. I REALLLLLY don't want to spend over 2k. I have to select from Spitz and Peck (heard expensive), J**k and R**e(poorly rated on BBB), and Flowers by Brian (heard expensive also!) ... HELP!????? lol

unless something is stated in a contract I dont see how they can demand you use any vendor for anything. Unless its covered in your price with the Venue and your not paying for the flowers I cant see how they can demand that you use any particular vendor.

CHCC had a bad experience with someone bringing in bugs with their flowers so that's why they do it. I would do the pin the flower people against eachother. Go see them all, get offers and if your favorite one ends up being the most expensive, let them know the quote you got from the others and see if they'll work with you.

I am using duet - they were reasonable. I am also using Burton in Melville - VERY reasonable! Good luck!

It is in the contract sadly. I am fully prepared to make a stink about it if I have to, because I noticed people getting married a few months before me have booked non-preferred florists, so what's a few months difference? But yeah, I'm going to try to play nice first. lol

Mitchell. He's really nice to work with so far. I'm not very assertive, so I am hoping to work something out with the preferred vendors-- when I say I am prepared to 'make a stink about this', I really mean, I am prepared to ask nicely, and then be unable to control the urge to cry when turned down...

But from some FM I got so far it looks like that may not be necessary! (thanks Linda!)

There is so much you can do for a thanksgiving wedding centerpiece. I dont know what your theme is but the sky is the limit. Branches, Leaves, Pumpkins, Crystals, Candles. I would have gotten married that time of your buyt FH wanted May.

I get really excited about other people projects....I am the girl who goes to the craft store and buys everything but thats as far as it goes.

If you can outside the pref vendors, check out Hidden Essence for flowers. She is so reasonable and has great energy and ideas. Check my album for my samples!

Re: Fellow 'budget brides'...

i'm thinking of cutting out floral centerpieces all together. I just cant justify the cost. I have 7 bridesmaids the bouquets alone will cost me almost 700.. i may do smal centerpiece and then make a favor that can also be used as a centerpiece.. get creative.. google is a good tool..
