Yankees consultant goes for doubleheader

Ray Negron is a smart man. The longtime George Steinbrenner and Yankees consultant married Theresa Bunger on Saturday at The Riviera at Massapequa in Long Island, and we hear that he specifically chose the date so that he would never forget his anniversary. See, Nov. 27 is also Negron's birthday, although the guests, who included Roberto Alomar, Darryl Strawberry, WABC sportscaster Scott Clark, Negron's 'Cotton Club' co-star Richard Gere, and power publicists Sy Presten and Joanne Binder weren't all aware of the double celebration until Adele Smithers, the president of the Christopher D. Smithers Foundation, led everyone in singing 'Happy Birthday' to the groom. Then, both wedding cake and birthday cake were served.

Actor Richard Gere was just one of the many guests at the wedding of author and NY Yankees consultant Ray Negron at the Riveria in Massapequa, New York. Also in attendance were former NY Yankees player and Mets manager Willie Randolph, former Yankees and Mets player Darryl Strawberry and former MLB player and Hall of Fame candidate Roberto Alomar.

Just went there this week and met one of the owners who was so super nice. And all of the BMs we've dealt with have been sweethearts. I seriously LOVE this place

Thats awesome that someone famous chose to get married there too! We have good taste!
