Well Iwent to my first fitting yesterday and as some know I ended up changing my dress. Well, There were some brides there and you know how we bride2be love watching other brides try on their gowns......well one lady was there and she was like...you look amazing in your dress ...mind u I am so self concious as it is.......
BUT then she went to try on the dress she had ordered and she had gained weight so it did not zip up. Then she started crying and said something like..'I wish I could look like you ..Nothing is going right'...and she is just bawling , so of course I felt really bad when I left. and I just cant help wondering how she is doing

i hope she is okay. i had a similar exprience with a girl when i was first trying on dresses. she was a plus size girl and the samples didnt fit right and her mom wanted her to come out into the open area so everyone could see. i could tell she was embarrassed and crying in her dressing room. her mother was being a real witch and talking about her weight and how its was her fault and she needed to lose weight. i was in the next one over and knocked on her door and actually asked if she needed a hug. i told her that brides are beautiful in all sizes and that she shouldnt be embarrassed in anyway of how she looks. i told her if she wasnt special she wouldnt be looking for a wedding dress in the first place. i told her try on what she would feel comfortable in and if she doesnt want to come out of the dressing area like her mom was pressuring her to then dont. i knew how she felt because i was in between sizes and most of the samples looked like a disaster on me. i walked out hoping she would be okay and not listen to her mom

Re: Felt really bad....
I really didnt know what to say. So I shared with her some of my fears. Perhaps she thought I was silly when I told her I hate being small. Alot of people think its great to be petite but as a bride all i am exposed to are tall glamazon women in beautiful dresses and here I am 5ft and have to get tons of my dress altered. So basically the grass is not greener on the other side either.

Joy - that is so sweeet of you! I hope someone like you is in the next room when it comes time for me to try dresses on too!
