yes, about every 6 months a female will go into season........ unless you get her fixed.
the bleeding portion of the cycle will probably last about a week and a half i would say.

i really do not think so. they may get cramps but i dont know.

youre dog will probably soon be ready to accept a male dog so you must be VERY careful with her. dont let her with male dogs. and maybe not with other femals either, as bitches in heat often get aggressive.

your best bet it to get her fixed. the blood ruins everything. you can get her panties though made for this.

Hi Theresa.....

I used to be so sad, when I was younger, that my female dog was spotting. I had no idea, what that ment. But, soon after she had puppies. Just be careful, and try to keep her away from other dogs. Good Luck

Def get her fixed. Females who aren't fixed can get pregnant very easily(males can smell them ). Plus, she can develop cancer of the uterus!!

yeah i heard about the cancer part, she doesn't have any other friends, it's just her, and on the weekend she sees her female cousin, but i will watch out for them when they are playing together.
do you know where do get the special panties, i guess in the regular pet store? i'm just afraid she going to try to bite it off.

Re: Female Dogs

Please get her fixed. Our family pet when I was younger wasn't fixed and she got cancer of her uterus and died

We will NEVER not fix a pet again.
