Did anyone else have a ffil or fmil who made surprise decisions for them??
We had been going back and forth about this dj nonsense...and we got an email today saying we're booked because FFIL went ahead and did it! He said it was because we were taking too long to make a decision and our idea was silly anyway
FH & I are...taken aback to say the least, I don't know what to do!

I wouldn't know what to say but.. Thank you? It's a little rude to say your idea was silly but I guess he just wanted to help out. The thought was very very nice but he should have consulted you guys first. He just went about it the wrong way.
At least it will take pressure off your brother too?
Think positive! This could be a really good thing if music wasn't your top priority and you won't have to pay for it now?!
This! You're October 2013, so you have plenty of time! Btw what DJ did FFIL book for you?

after hours.
Last night was really stressful, and there's only so far FH is willing to argue with his dad because his dad is oh-so-stubborn, so I basically threw my hands up and said fine, we'll keep them.

Im so sorry you had to even deal with this. I really hope you guys don't have any more problems with him! Just try and make the best of it at this point. You don't want to stress about something so early on in the wedding planning process!! Its supposed to be fun, hectic fun, but fun.

I've known a few people that had After Hours and they absolutely loved them. When we met with our dj he actually told us a story of how a bride came him and gave him a whole lidt of songs to play so he did what she asked and no one was dancing so he asked her if he could take the reins and she agreed. After that the dance floor was packed. I know this isn't a situation that you want to be in but you also don't want it to cause friction between you and FH.
